Jim, while there have been massive increases in taxes and regulations over the many years - W is less a problem then the Congress, your local politicans, environmentalist and the management of these companies - lt alone all the millions of dollars companies are now forced to pay to politicans for their campaigns.

Illegal immigration and the attendant crime has no effect on El Paso? Right.

"Duyba's economy is surely not benefiting us all, equally."

The economy never benefits everyone 'equally'.

If it did. It wouldn't be 'capitalism'. It would be 'socialism'.

Illegal immigration is a key component of Dubya's economic policy.

Why do we allow millions of full containers to be shipped into the USA from China, while they return empty to China? It doesn't take a financial genius to figure out who's getting the short end of the stick in that arrangement.

Millions of Americans and countless El Pasoans are struggling to survive outsourcing of their jobs.

And how is this GW Bush's fault? Even if he had the power to micromanage big business to the degree of being able to shut down outsourcing, it wouldn't necessarily be the right thing to do. Companies are doing all kinds of things to save money on labor because they're being taxed to death. But you'll never get much public support for tax reform on big business because the news media and Democraps always cry that it will break the backs of the citizenry, which is absurd.

Yep--outsourcing to illegal Mexicans that work for half of what legal citizens would make.

It's not the economic policies that hurt El Paso, it's the immigration policies.

It's not Bush's economic policies that are to blame for what's ailing El Paso,it's his immigration policy.

Oops. Now you've done it. The Bush-bots will be out in droves to explain to you why the service economy is highly superior to any other.

Yeah. Right...

Nevermind that the latest job numbers showed that in the last year El Paso has added almost as many jobs as twice as large San Antonio, which all agree is going through a boom right now.

Not that facts ever get in the way of the political urban myth-based rants of liberals and yourself.

The whole of Washington is completely deaf when it comes to ourtsourcing. All they know is that they recieve large donations from companies that send American jobs out of country hand over fist. I live here, have freinds on the hill, and thats not hyperbole. I also don't like the fact that Bush is trying to import labor too, as he gave a pathetic speech yesterday to allow more Indians to take American jobs for less pay.

If he did not cut taxes and was not strong on national defense, I would be pretty despondant.

Galena Park ships out far more products than Highland Park. Which city's population is wealthier?

That's getting old fast. Manufacturing Unions are a small percentage of labor today. Saying all the companies that outsourced are union is jusZE=1t true.
