You can't drink soda in public places. Public places, of course, includes private property that is publicly accessible.
Now the soda drinkers can line up on the sidewalks with the smokers and all have yellow teeth together.

I suppose the parents have no responsibility at all for buying soda or allowing kids to drink soda.
RIDICULOUS LITIGATION, PING!!!

Fatty food is also on the list of targets to attack for big money to help "the children." People laughed 10+ years ago when Rush Limbaugh and others said that the Nioctine Nazis and their partners would next go after food. As usual, he was right.
Look for a "Twinkie Tax" to be proposed with the funds to be used for "Childhood obesity programs". And as with the tobacco settlement money, less than 5% will actually go for its stated purpose.

If a company is really successfully it must be doing some thing unethical. Liberal Lawyers can tear down the country while getting rich. What a racket.

Smoke Gnatzies jumped on the bandwagon to condemn and demonize smokers and wouldn't listen it was really about smoking, but about control by the "we're smarter than you" crowd. I doubt they will pay much attention to this either. Not until it's something they wish to continue doing will they wake up and by then, there will be no one left to stand with them.

"If someone is saying that a 64-ounce soda at 7-Eleven contributed to obesity, that person should have his day in court."Well, that's one reason I stopped going to 7-Eleven. The guy who worked there was always grabbing me, throwing me to the ground, sitting on me, and pouring those 64-ounce pops down my throat.
The litigation culminated in the 1998 settlement in which cigarette makers agreed to alter marketing practices, pay oodles to state governments (financed by hiking cigarette prices) and not incidentally fork over upward of $10 billion to the lawyers who had organized the suits.
Just a coincidence, I'm sure. I mean, even though these lawyers are motivated solely by the public interest and concern for our health, they still have to earn a living, right?

However, he never threw a dollar over a river, never chopped down that infamous cherry tree, etc. And, in fact, he did have his human failings, such as being a slave holder (morally debatable even in his day), etc. More of the same.

Here's a novel idea- how about holding the consumers responsible for their own mis-use of a product.

Since I don't like coffe, I have a coke to get me through the morning. I think I'm addicted to it. And Think of all the long term health problems I'm going to have because of Cocca Cola. I think we need a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit so that those who have suffered dearly at the hands of big cola can be properly compensated for their physical and mental anguish.

Last year in Ontario, the provincial government passed something called Sabrina's law - named after a 13 year old girl who died after the tongs used for putting her french fries in a cup were found to have touched cheese. She went into anaphylactic shock because of a dairy allergy. She law requires local school boards to have a number of emergency response things in place along with a policy for dealing with this. In the case of our local school board, they have just decided to issue an edict that ALL nut products and foods containing nut products are to be absolutely banned from school property. Do you think that might be a little heavy handed?

We need a soft drink age requirement. Minors should not be allowed to consume, purchase, sell, or transport soft drinks until 21 years of age.

Ridiculous stuff. But I would not miss hydrogenated-anything & high-fructose corn syrup if they were "discouraged." But no lawsuits are necessary.
