Some things I know about the Jomon - Ainu:
* The Ainu are tall, light-skinned and hairy people who are erroneously called 'Caucasian.'
* 9,300 Year Old Kennewick Man Is believed to be Ainu.
* The Oldest Jomon Skeleton Ever Found In Japan is 13,000 years old.
* The Ainu are believed to be descended from the Jomon.
* The Jomon were noted for their 'cord-marked' type pottery. Archaeologists believe they have found this type pottery in the Olmec ruins in Mexico.
* The oldest (undisputed) Mongoloid skeleton ever found is only 10,000 years old. My present opinion is that both the Mongoloids and Caucasians sprang from an early Jomon line.
I'd like to hear your thoughts and ideas on this subject. I will post other related articles and pictures as we proceed.

If you ain't the biggest Ainu fan here no one is :)
Yes the Ainu are blue eyed white guys (Orientals?) who inhabit the northern islands of Japan. Were a tribal people. Have you ever wondered why Siberian Huskies have blue eyes? Same as Nordic people tend to?

The Jomon were noted for their 'cord-marked' type pottery. Archaeologists believe they have found this type pottery in the Olmec ruins in Mexico. And they were a fishing people. It would not be far-fetched to think that some would migrate up the Aleutian Island chain to Alaska and then down the Pacific coast of America

The Ainu may not be Caucasian, strictly speaking, but having met several during the time I lived in Japan, I WILL say they sure LOOK Caucasian to me!

I always thought Ainus were Caucasian because of their appearance. Ainus today look more Mongoloid because of racial mixing likely. I always noticed Ainu men carrying swords. Any reason for that? That sword looks similar to a Samurai sword. In fact the way Samurais are depicted, they look like Ainus or mixed race. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the Japanese leader who invaded Korea in the 16th was likely an Ainu. I know many Japanese leaders, politicians, generals, and samurais were Ainus. I believe that Ainus came from Southeast Asia, mainly Indonesia. I have read that Ainus, Veddas, Bataks, Polynesians, Australian Aborgines, and Indians are all related to each other and came from Indonesia.

I have never actually seen anything about it but it has to be obvious to many the similarity between Finnish words and Japanese.

Just looking at the Ainu, they seem like cousins to the Inuit (Eskimos).
Just an amateur opinion, not to be taken for more than that.
