And the ACU gave Boehner a 100% Conservative rating in 2004.

Thanks, BigSkyFreeper. I was just now going to look this up. You saved me--and many others, I hope--the time of doing this myself.

I didn't mean to sound snide but my #156 post says

"Boehner scores A by NRA on pro-gun rights policies
Voted YES on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1.
Voted YES on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse."

He knows he can't sustain his open border stance.

He's been consistent on this issue.

YOU overlook the facts. On Boehner's website it says, he is not for amnesty. Great. But his vote against HR4437, the Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act, indciates he doesn't want to see employers prosecuted and/or punished for violating the law. Hiring illegals is violating the law. Seems on this issue, Boehner is a status quo Beltway Pubbie. You have no problem with that, fine.

Anything that annoys McCain makes me happy.

Glad McC didn't have a vote tho! He's a backstabber, as we all know.

Boener is very anti-earmark, which is a good thing.

Of course, I would have preferred Shadegg, but he got in too late.

You don't know what you're talking about isn't snide? Who taught you manners? General Patton?

Of course you can't know this unless you look at my profile, but since I teach in an ultra liberal inner city school, I can't get to any gun affiliated site, it's blocked by the school servers. I'm lucky FREE REPUBLIC isn't blocked! Besides I can only post while the kids are working or between classes. And why am I whining? Sheeesh. ExSoldier...get a grip.... get a grip....

That's what I'm expecting, business as usual. Unless we clean out the House next time around.

Santorum is pushing for an increase in the minimum wage

Santorum pushed a bill that went down because it didn't raise it enough for the Dems. It was a ploy and it worked.

Have you any idea what DeLay did for us?

He is being canabilized in Texas because of the redistricting that got us that wonderful MAJORITY in congress.

He hammered the President's tax cuts thru congress, etc etc etc.

Do you think for one moment there weren't people demanding pork for those YES votes?

Nothing comes free in this world and I have nothing but thanks and praise for Tom DeLay.

Why would I weep at that? If the ACU says he has a 100% conservative rating, I'm comfortable with that. 100%? What more do you people want, anyway?

Obviously, Boehner wants to give employers a free pass if they hire illegals.

Question: “Why did you vote against the recent border security bill, H.R. 4437? Do you support amnesty for illegal immigrants?”

BOEHNER: H.R. 4437 has a number of strong provisions aimed at stemming the tide of illegal immigration, all of which I support.

I opposed one section of the bill that places a massive unfunded mandate on small businesses. I for one don’t think we stop illegal immigration by strangling the small businesses that are the backbone of our economy. Nor do I believe it is right to turn small business owners into felons for failing to do the federal government’s job of protecting the borders. Had it not been for this one section, I would have supported the bill.

I worked with colleagues of mine to address these concerns, but we were not allowed to offer an amendment. And my committee, which has jurisdiction over these employer issues, was only given twenty-four hours to review the bill. That’s not enough time to fully review a massive piece of legislation and offer substantive changes.

The only way to make my voice heard was to cast a risky vote. I did so, and I have no regrets.

As for the second question: no. I do not support giving amnesty to illegal immigrants. I never have and I never will. Illegal immigrants are just that -- illegal. Their first act upon entering our country was to break our laws and they need to be held accountable.

Local conservative radio host is enraged that Boehner, not Shadegg, got the nod......said except for the Patriot Act, it isn't worth being a Republican.

Over the top comment IMO.

He knows he can't sustain his open border stance.

Apparently, the ACU liked him so much, they rewarded him with a 100% rating in 2004.
