Now that I am seeing Boehner's qualifications all in one thread, I'm happy with thisMe too. I went from being pretty neutral on Boehner an hour ago, to being pretty darned happy with what I'm learning about him. I need a new tagline.

I do not know anything about you and I do not care.Everyone in the conservative movement knows Boehner wants nothing done about the border.IF you are in favor of the status quo then you are open border. His vote against the Border Protection Act is a great example.

I think he's a RINO. Very much against the 2nd Amendment. He apparently has an A rating with the NRA. Are you sure you're not confusing him with someone else?

Don't like it one bit. Bad move. He is part of the problem, not the solution. Shadegg was my guy.

Everyone in the conservative movement knows Boehner wants nothing done about the borderIf that is so, surely you can link me to some facts to back up that statement, right?

I'm sure Shadegg health insurance reform plan is still workable. Now more than ever with more name recognition, but if he were majority leader it would definitely be a priority.

The Bush Admin has always maintained a policy of strict neutrality in the internal workings of the Congress. I recall that they did twist a few arms on the Medicare Prescription nonsense.

I didn't see anyone post this, but wasn't Mr. B the one handing out lobbying checks on the floor of the house that time--could be mistaken, it's been a few years.

Santorum is pushing for an increase in the minimum wage and he was the whip for the medicare vote. These two alone disqualify him from Conservatism.Though he can still be our ally on many things.

Boehner acted years ago to hold liberal Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) accountable for leaking the contents of an illegally-recorded conversation among House leaders. Boehners action was taken at great expense to his own self-interest and his re-election fund, which with FEC approval has financed a lawsuit against McDermott that continues to this day.
I didn't know he did this but it pleases me no end.

McCain was campaigning for Shadegg. That was probably the kiss of death for Shadegg. He's my congressman and he is GREAT, but I'm satisfied with the pick.
