Oscar nod for terror film a dreadful call

By YOSSI ZUR

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Tuesday nominated the Palestinian movie "Paradise Now" for Best Foreign Language film. The film follows the path of two young Palestinians from their decision to become suicide bombers to the moment they board a Tel Aviv bus crowded with children. "Paradise Now," directed by Hany Abu-Assad, is a very professional production, created with great care for detail. It also is an extremely dangerous piece of work, not only for Israel and the Middle East, but the whole world.

Apalled. Simply apalled.

With the number of Jews involved in the Hollywood entertainment industry (think Steven Speilberg et al), why do they passively or actively promote "art" that celebrates such murder by seeking to justify it?

The headlines following Oscar night:

"DVD rentals soared the night of the Oscars, beating the rental numbers of the last six months combined!"

"ABC's bond rating fell to junk status following the Oscar advertising pullout..."

"Brokebuck Mountain Piles On"

You get the drift.

Apalled. Simply apalled.

Note... Every movie given nods for award competition is one which pokes a sharp stick in the eye of majority America. None of the "Oscar worthy" has anything at all going for it, other than that one salient fact. And they believe nobody can see the blatant agenda pushing. They are wrong, more wrong than they believe...

Oh, they're making a 9/11 movie and Oliver Stone is directing. Can you believe anyone would give Oliver Stone money to make this movie??? Now Mel Gibson would do right by the facts, but OLIVER STONE??

I doubt if he show the hi-jackers lust for porn and disregard for human life, but he will focus on America's imperialistic goals and policies..

Now come on. Braveheart and The Patriot aren't exactly shining examples of historical accuracy.

I think he'd keep it a lot closer to fact than Oliver Stone!

Munich was a really good film. I could see it getting best film or Crash. Brokeback Mountain- while a good film- isn't best picture material in my book. Maybe best actor.

So would Baron Munchausen.

What I'm saying is that, with how vivid 9/11 is still in our minds, Gibson wouldn't be able to get away with much 'poetic license'. Did you like the 'poetic license' that Stone used in 'JFK' or Nixon'? He won't care whether people remember or not, he will change the facts to suit his agenda.

Oscar nod for terror film

Leftism *IS* terrorism. Ergo, the reward to the filmmakers.

They are in the process of offending about 75% of America now with this year's "choices". It doesn't make sense to not nominate a single movie without a lefty agenda of some sort. Do they really think we'll all watch anyway just to see the gowns or whatever??

The liberal at work thought "Kinsey" was a virtual documentary.
