A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 2.1.06

The president went to Nashville, Tennessee, today, to give a speech on his 2006 agenda.

He signed a proclamation in honor of American Heart Month.

There are pick up photos from last night of Associate Justice Alito's ceremonial swearing in, and from the president's State of the Union speech.

Welcome to Sanity Island!!!!!

Thanks, Gretchen ..... what a wonderful day!! Judge Alito was so humble and considerate. I'm so happy for him .. still got teary eyed when I saw the repeat of the swearing in today. What a classy man and family. I thought it was noteworthy also that he mentioned the prayers. This is a good man. Sad .. we'll rarely see he and Chief Justice Roberts now .... we'll just be reading about their opinions.

Such good news about your Dad, snugs!! That's such a relief .. one less worry. I pray all goes well with the next procedure. You two have been through so much this New Year already. God bless you both with continued strength and endurance.

I'm assuming that, while Alito and family were at the White House watching the vote (and all the ugly spew from the DimDumbs), they probably had a little meal, and when victory was won, immediately they were whisked off in a lovely limousine to the Supreme Court. There, Chief Justice Roberts administered the official oath... that's why he was able to be in robes at the SOTU last night.

I think about how very kind of our President and how emblematic of his humanity that he extended that courtesy of sweating it out with them. I'm not sure I heard of that happening with Justice Roberts, but that's like being in a foxhole together .. I think they'll always have a special bond. We can only imagine how hard it was for Mr. + Mrs. Alito to sit there, with the President, and have to listen to all that garbage the DimRats had to voice .. just to be more vicious on the last day and hours to hurt Alito and Bush.

Can you imagine how horrible it would've been if the votes weren't there, and there they are at the WH with the President.

Today, it was just a ceremonial re-swearing, and I'm SO glad they allowed the public to see the fruits of victory play out, in front of a crowd of happy and supportive people.

After all the Alitos have been through ... and just imagine how difficult these months have been for their teenaged children......kids can be cruel, this family deserved every moment of this celebration today and to be treated royally, applauded and lauded for their great dignity and class in the hellish battle they endured. God bless them. Our president is so special, and God is so good.

You know me WELL, Gretchen. It's in the eyes.

When you get to see them that close up, you can see his soul...........and his soul belongs to Jesus. It shows.

(I do admit to liking the rest of his face though, too....... :)

I had to go back and look at her shoes..........they're very nice.

For some reason I don't notice people's shoes............and I hope they don't notice mine either. :)

They are very feminine and make the trousers that she so often wears feminine and suitable wear for the formal events that she wears them to.

Shoes or high heeled fashioned boots can make or break an outfit IMHO.

I've always been *jealous* of women who can wear high heels. I can't and I think they are very attractive.

his soul shines through them.

It really does. I notice that all the time..........and that's why I really like photos that show the inner character and spiritual strength that shines in his eyes.

I only wear heels for VERY special occasions. They're very flattering, but rough on the ankles and legs.

I used to wear them all the time, but I'm not fond of pain, so I gave them up.

(btw, if I had Laura's legs, I might consider dealing with the pain. :)

Have you ever seen him so ebullient and expansive?? He was unbelievable ... what did you both think? Hope you're watching so you can see his joyful and hyper-animated moments.

Hmmmmmm........skinny is not my problem. :) But I've always had muscular legs, and the more I work at keeping fit, the more muscular they get.

(I'm working on a rowing machine regularly now, and that really builds your calf muscles. Biking is even worse).

I think it's basically unfair that someone who's 59 years old should have legs as nice as Laura's. :)
