Have you ever seen him so ebullient and expansive?? He was unbelievable ... what did you both think? Hope you're watching so you can see his joyful and hyper-animated moments.

I just concluded watching his Nashville speech. I LOVE THIS PART at the very end.

I hope you get the sense of my optimism about the country. I told you mine is a decision-making job. I first learned that when ...a guy called me and said, "What color rug do you want in the Oval Office?" I said, man, this is a decision-making job. What color rug do I want? The second thing about decision-making is you've got to know when it's time to delegate. So not knowing much about rug designing, I said, "Laura, give me a hand."

And the third thing about my job is you've got to set a strategic vision. I set the strategic vision last night for our country: Active in the pursuit of our own security and the spread of freedom; confident in our ability to compete in the world; understanding we need to continually re-commit ourselves to serving others. And so I said, "Laura, the only thing I want is that rug to say -- you figure out how to say it -- is [an] optimistic person comes here to work every day." And she captured my spirit, because I am optimistic about our future."

He got a little choked up when he said those last words.

He was a joy to watch as he gave this speech.
