Republican or Democrat, this guy is acting like an elite snob. There is no need to abuse the House Police for doing their jobs.
OK, so the ejecting from the House of Reps chamber was bi-partisan last night - first Cindy Sheehan and now this one. Both were wearing T-shirts with political commentary on them.
A bi-partisan ejection night!!!!!!!!
No shoes, no shirt, no service.
How pathetic.
Congressman Billybob
TaxRelief - thank you.
Indy and goodness: For comparison to clarify my remarks about hysterical women and dark ages - please consider Condy Rice, Karen Hughes, Laura Bush and the many women on both sides of the aisle in the House who have risen to the top in their respective personae through determined effort and acquisition of knowledge and protocol rather than acting outrageously for news bites in the ever present press.
Which kind of woman would you be happy to represent you in putting forth your ideals and your perception of worthy females in our government.
Cindy Sheehan is a woman in deep grief - but so are many other mothers, aunts, sisters, grandmothers, and daughters.
I think she does not represent them well at all. They all deserve better - those who have lost loved ones to war.
Sounds like a staged event, at best.
Nice thought wrong venue.
bkmk
Its not like the Sheehan worshippers will care. Its still NAZI GERMANY! lol
She wore a jacket over her T shirt when she went in, so they didn't see it until she took the jacket off
I agree a T-shirt is lousy attire at the SOTU. However, I wonder if it would be acceptable to wear a pin with the words?
Would she still have been tossed?
How about Cindy Sheehan wearing a pin with her words that got her tossed?
I know many people there, including the president, wear American flags pins. What exactly are the rules, and who get to interpret and enforce them?
Can a pin in the shape of a cross, or maybe just the words 'Jesus Saves' get you ejected?
What about a tie with words written on it?
I'm puttin' my hammer away 'cause you nailed it.
Karl Rove.
You must be reading my mind.
A better question was did the security police really believe a "support the troops" tee-shirt was meant as a disruption? There was reason to shuffle Sheehan out because she unfurled an anti-war provocative banner along with wearing a tee-shirt against the war in contempt of the President. There was no reason to usher the Congressman's wife out.
This has Rove written all over it.
The WH gets wind of Sheehan's plans, plants a foil, thus setting up an equal opportunity ejection.
Love it.
Agree completely. My first thought when it happened.
There are pro-WOT bikinis and thongs also. Those aren't appropriate for the formal event either.
