In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.
Close Call
Then came the unexpected:

So is wealthTV a premium cable channel????
Mikeyk's book will be FICTION, right?
If you harp on the shotgun and not on the analogy, you have totally missed the point.
If MS feels "condemned", he ain't seen nothing yet.
See post 494 for Vigil Photos link.
It wasn't bad enough that she was adopted by monsters, but on top of that they had to live in Massachusetts of all places.
Of course, if you're a monster, I guess you might be attracted to a state that crowns a monster senator-for-life.
Wasn't Robert Herring the name of the guy who made an offer of a million dollars to Michael through Gloria Allred to walk away and let Terri's family have guardianship? If so, he's the CEO of this Wealth TV network.
Well, Jeb signed into law that food and water be considered medical assistance - I don't trust him at all! He was a big part of Terri dying!
Wealth TV is a new, high definition digital cable channel. It's not available on very many cable providers yet. They have a form there that allows you to send a message to your cable provider, requesting that they carry Wealth TV.
They also have a link to a preview of their special on Terri Schiavo Schindler.
The businessman, Robert Herring Sr., founder of electronics firm HERCO Technology and founder of WEALTHTV, secured the services of celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred and announced the million-dollar offer at a press conference yesterday. (Posted: March 11, 2005.)

We don't know who did it, or how they did it, but I'd bet carpet over pillow. There was some interesting information on one of the previous threads about chest compression. I guess you could say it is a form of smothering the victim. It would be consistent with Terri's original condition.
No adultery policy? Does that mean no fooling around with the inmates, or in general? It's about time MS married the mother of his children, however I wish he would have done so years ago.
I remember Carly Bruscia. What did her mother do to end up in jail? It does seem to be a strange coincidence that she ends up in his jail. Hope she doesn't get sick.
Me too, though a pillow is a possibility. A choke hold makes sense because the brain damage was particular to the frontal areas fed by the carotid arteries. Something cut that arterial flow. Having her face pushed into a carpet also makes sense, especially given the bone scan. I'd almost swear the odd pair of injuries to her spine at L1 and the bone bruise on her femur were made by a big man's knees pinning her down. Michael is twice her size. If he was on her back, she didn't have a ghost of a chance. Her lactic acidosis suggests that she struggled desperately for air until she passed out.
Steelcurtain, why do you insist on attacking us? Don't you have any decent contribution to make to this thread or any other Terri thread, or is it all about disruption?
You have set a pattern. You are starting to look like just another troll.
A religious zealot offered, 250k for someone to kill MS? Lol, when did that happen? All the religious zealots I know don't have that kind of cash : ) Not to mention that killing is against God's commandments. A religious zealot would know that ;-)
He's so full of sh*t, it's pooling under his eyes.
Coming from you, that's pretty funny, posse boy. Tell ya what, you think about this: you're going to die. You want it quick, or do you want to linger and feel your eyes crack like boiled eggs?
