Deputy's gun used in rape, records show

Two days before a King County deputy sheriff's live-in lover allegedly shot and killed a convenience-store clerk, he used the deputy's handcuffs and gun to rape a man in their Kenmore home while the cop slept upstairs, according to police reports.

The incident in August is one of many revelations regarding King County Sheriff's Deputy Ferenc Zana's disastrous affair with a mentally ill felon. They were contained in more than 900 pages of documents the Sheriff's Office was forced to produce Monday under a court order obtained by the Seattle P-I.

==We'll be seeing more of this as long as liberal politicians are dictating the terms for hiring officers and more innocents will die when non qualified folks are hired. This is exactly what the libs want to do with the military too.==

As in 'Feminization' of our culture? It seems the case with the female leadership on this department - all talk and no action.

after doing some googling, looks like Zana posted to google groups about forming a fight club:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.sport.boxing/browse_thread/thread/5ecde249436f3c8d/e59f14edcff7eece?tvc=2&q=&hl=en#e59f14edcff7eece

I am in the process of organizing a high school boxing night between
friends. The problem is that the kids are planning are planning to have it
in the open in a makeshift ring, without supervision, and they still don't
know where. There are lots of potential problems with this, including the
violation of a handful of the laws of the State of Washington. All the
problems can be avoided by moving indoors into an accredited pro or amateur
gym, or finding a charitable organization to sponsor it. Even a private
party would do, I am currently checking with my department's legal advisor
on that.

I drew up a proposal to organize an event like this and to make it all
legal, complete with off-duty cops in attendance and refereeing the fights,
medical release forms, a paramedic attending, etc, but I have not been lucky
enough to find an indoor venue to this point.

I will need one of three things to make this happen and to keep it safe. I
can move into a regular martial arts or boxing gym, or find a charitable
organization that allows us to set up a ring and maybe even make it into a
fundraiser for them. This could be a church, YMCA, or something along these
lines. Or, I can work with a private party who has some indoor space and a
generous heart.

You know people, these high school fight clubs are becoming quite popular,
maybe this way we can keep it legal and safe at least. If anyone on this
board knows of a gym or a private party IN THE GREATER EAST SIDE OF KING
COUNTY, WA ONLY, (!) who is willing to accommodate this event, let me know
and I will send an "Event Proposal" to them to explain it in detail.

You can email me at "the....@verizon.net" with ideas.

Thanks, Ferenc

he follows up with:

I was an amateur boxer, and still I used to carry around with me a set of
gloves to school to fight and I often fought with friends with just bare
fists for the fun of it. When you are young, reason sometimes goes out the
window for the sake of the sheer thrill of the excitement and the bragging
rights. Kids these day fight at parties, fight after school, sometimes they
organize with rules, sometimes with just bare fists in a parking lot, and
sometimes they just don;t really like each other and shoot their opponent
with a gun.

Understanding why it is the way it is has nothing to do with solving the
problem. I agree with you if it makes you feel good, but that still leaves
me with a very real problem.... :)

No, the shooting did not take place in the house, only the rape took place in the house.

During the rape, the cop told them to keep it quiet and came downstairs, saw some "kinky behavior", thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. Meanwhile, the guy being raped was handcuffed with the officer's equipment and threatened with the officer's sidearm.

The shooting was of another individual at a convenience store.

That is also a separate incident from the joyride in the officer's car and crash.

Bring out the gimp!

Repeat after me: Only the cops can be trusted with guns. ;-)

Sheriff Rahr says it's the union, their hands are tied.

Unions can get in the way of taking care of problems like this, at the expense of their own rank and file who need might legitimate union representation ar some point. But they are already hired by the county before they are union members. I have mixed feelings (for lack of a better word)about these unions and view them as a necessary evil. I pay dues to my local union which is affiliated with IUPA under the AFL-CIO. I try not to think about it 8>)

Sheriff Rahr says it's the union, their hands are tied.

That is probably the immediate problem but there are also the federal affirmative action rules and EEO guidelines.

That is indeed what it sounds like; along with unions, PC police, county HR guidelines, and a bunch of other bozo policy wonks who may very likely be "aiding, enabling, empowering and employing" said lezbos.

But hey, ... I could be wrong.
