An instant poll taken by CNN/USA Today/Gallup gave President Bush a 75% positive rating. CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer said more than 400 adults who watched the State of the Union address were surveyed in the poll.

When asked to rate the president’s speech, the poll broke down like this:

48% gave Bush a very positive rating 27% gave Bush a somewhat positive rating 23% gave Bush a negative rating

Although those numbers may not look remarkable on first glance, that’s actually a 75% positive rating for Bush when the top two categories are combined.

His approval rating in the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll was 43%.

I'm not his biggest fan, but even I have to admit he pulled off a good speech. I could have lived without the standing ovations every 10 seconds though, it seemd to cut down on his momentum.

I think Rudy did a good on the after action talk rounds tonight. Even though he's prochoice and has some baggage I think my hats going into his corner for '08.

What you see here are the results BEFORE they have time to rig them.
