Al-Qaeda's number two Ayman al-Zawahiri has called on US President George W Bush to convert to Islam.
"Ayman Zawahiri called on President George W Bush to convert to Islam in the video recording received by Al-Jazeera," said the channel's presenter.
"If you obey, you will be a brother in religion and God will pardon the past," she cited Zawahiri as saying in the tape broadcast on Monday.
Al-Jazeera did not broadcast excerpts of this passage from the tape, but said the full recording would be made available on its website.
In the excerpts broadcast by Al-Jazeera, Zawahiri said he survived a controversial US raid targeting him in Pakistan.

But, with a screen name like Ichabod ("the glory has departed"), you probably are already aware of this.
I read a story a short time before Earnhardt won the Daytona 500 when he went through a dry spell prior to that win. It quoted loudmouth Darrell Waltrip saying that Earnhardt should change his name to ichabod for the glory had departed. After he won Daytona I thought, yeah, in that sense I'll take that name. So there you have it :-)
It should also be mentioned that it is a muslim's duty to offer a conversion to islam and then if the invitation is refused, it is the muslim's obligation to kill said invitee. Here's hoping that the secret service isn't so PC as not believe this to be true. For all intents and purposes islam is anything but a religion of peace.

Unfortunately the United States is not in Revelation, it just isn't there. The secular progressives have done a good job of just about removing God from all aspects of public life. There is a God shaped void to be filled. Human Beings were created to worship, that is our sole purpose. So that being said, both aspects have to be taken care of. I believe that this is where islam comes in. You can teach it in the schools but woe to the Christian who wants to have Bible study after school. It has become en vogue almost to learn about islam. CAIR is doing a great job of bullying people to downplay the dark aspects of islam. Islam is a religion of death, why else would you need a lobbying group to smooth out the wrinkles for the American people? You have the American Communist Lobbying Union making sure that our national security mechanisms are 86ed with the new york slimes as a willing accomplice. I forget the name of the Tom Clancy movie where the nuke goes off in the states, but in the book the perpetrators are jihadis and after CAIR bullied hollywierd the movie featured Nazi skinheads. We're going to PC ourselves into our own demise.
Hmmm. That looks like pretty good reasoning to consider an invitation to convert to islam as prima facie evidence of intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Yes, I am aware that end time prophecies are also in the minor prophets (Daniel, Ezekiel, et al). If you have a specific verse that points to the United States, please by all means, do enlighten me.
First, Daniel and Ezekiel are not minor prophets. Second, "minor" refers to their size, not significance, if you are among those who make that perfectly understandable mistake.
Finally, those that "dwell safely in the coastlands" seems to be a pretty good fit for the west in general.

That's nothing - I've got tulip bulbs sprouting in Michigan! I went to Florida at Christmas and was surprised how brown the grass was throughout most of the south. I think it's mostly Bermuda grass that turns brown as soon as it gets cold. Up here in Michigan its been so warm (except for the weeks before Christmas)our grass is much greener. The weeping willow trees are all turning yellow from early buds.

Fescue doesn't do well with the hot summer sun, so it's a choice between brown grass in the winter with bermuda, or brown grass in summer with fescue. Or, you can be a real lawn freak and overseed with fescue to conceal the brown bermuda grass during the winter, lol.
