Thanks I'll watch it again. I was just looking at the jacket, trying to see if those were his stripes on his jacket.

My son is stationed at Travis Air Force Base in CA and I can tell you they are treated poorly everywhere in that state. Although he is deployed at the moment this is his regular duty station and he hates it there. Normally the police are some of the few that treat them decently. This is such a shame. I'm just grateful this young man will recover.

That video is very damning. That cop needs to spend a long time in jail. I am very pro law enforcement and took the initial article with a grain of salt. After watching the tape its clear that this was attempted murder. The scumbag cop needs to be locked up.

The "police are always wrong" crowd always confuses me. They take a "them vrs us" stand when the police are our sons and daughters, hired by us, trained by us, and paid by us to stand in harms way. Then at the slightest transgression, we turn on them like Piranha and devour them without giving them even the slightest benefit of doubt.

Because although the police are here to protect us from bad people, who will protect us from bad police? So if a bad policeman shows up, otherwise supportive people will turn on him.

I don't think you'll find many "police are always wrong" types on FR. In this case though I don't see any possible room for doubt on this cops actions after seeing the videotape. The scumbag should be locked up and should never have gotten a badge in the first place. He's no better than a common street thug.
