Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?
Jeffords voted no.
Kennedy looks like he's aged ten years since yesterday.
I almost want to buy him a drink.
yup , his voice sounds "strangled" ,
... like the "dinosaur junkies" plying 23rd St here in NYC
It's just saying waiting for democratic underground in the bottom bar where the page is shown loading. I'm on Bellsouth Fast-Access 1.5 Mbps and aren't getting a connection.
How did Snowe vote?
Can we start oppressing women and minorities yet?
Just kidding
Not that the practice hasn't become an abomination what with it being a federal entitlement bestowed by nine unelected justices and no state oversight.
"Puerto Rico vote?"
LOL. I wish...
She thought she had pres as a shoein
Now she is left with a long face
The queen she is not
She just got the zot
and we are much happy to do it.
Can't wait to see Justice Alito at the SOU tonight in his robes--what a fantastic day!!!
It's a happy, happy day.....tears here too.
God bless President Bush
God bless Justice Alito
God bless America.
Unfortunately, it'll take another good judge to dump Kelo. Anthony Kennedy was the sellout on that one.
But we can now (hopefully) dump the free speech restrictions of McCain-Feingold, uphold bans on partial birth abortion, uphold parental consent & notification, roll back some racial quotas, and lift the ban on crosses on city seals and things like that. We're also a little less likely to have gay "marriage" forced on us by the courts.
Amen .... good day to be a BushBot. Thank God for George W. Bush, a truly impressive President and a Great American! Welcome to the Supreme Court of the United States of America, JUSTICE Alito ! God continue to bless you and your family.
Precisely!
Ha ha. DU has crashed! I guess all those tears shorted something out!LMAO
Thank goodness! One thing was apparent - there are very few Senators - either Republican or Democrat, that are good public speakers. It was painful to listen to the debate at times.
Just a general description of behavior of the Dem "leaders" recently.
And that, Franklin, is how you pack a court.
Mine, too, Pukin! Now... onto the 2006 elections! :o)
Yes, we need to follow our Constitution. That's why I really like Mr. Alito, soon to be JUSTICE ALITO!
