"This failure to dissociate the evil of individuals from the faith of Islam points to an un-American double standard. No other faith group in America bears this burden of guilt by association."

Islam is un-American.

CAIR has tremendous influence on my opinions. If they hate somebody, then they must be an upstnding individual.

Muslims remain disappointed that a prominent religious leader used divisive rhetoric at a time when the world needed spiritual healers.

ROFLMAO.............the unmitigated GALL of these hypocrites is staggering.

Where do I contribute to this mans retirement fund?

"Besides the fact that his comments were offensive to Muslims, Rev. Vines lacked basic understanding of Islam and Muslims."

"After all, Muhammad was a very nuanced man, and should not characterized by some of his weaker points."

Reminds of the defense of John Kerry during the election cycle. You just needed to understand how nuanced and intelligent he is to have insight in to how wrong-minded and unappealing he is.

"Such malediction reflects rather poorly on faith leaders who fail to distinguish between the atrocities of a few Muslims who misguidedly kill in the name of Islam versus the peaceful practices of mainstream Islam."

What a crock of shi*

Who CAIRS what the islamos think. If they don't like America, don't live here and breathe our air!
They have been known to make a considerable number of hate and inciting violence statements as well. Where are the resignations?

If Islam seeks peace, go home and find peace with the goats.

I am a christian first and foremost. With that said, I like being baptist because you can count us to say it like it is; no sugar coating allowed.

" Reaching out and being part of inter-faith dialogues would be a good starting point."

Learning something about things you write about would be an even better starting point.

If this author studied the life of Muhammad they might be less inclined to sound like such an ignorant fool.

Apparently this poor excuse for a writer believe in taking the politically correct stance of "Americans, and especially Christian leaders, should never say anything that might provoke those looking for excuses for violence. Whether what they say is true is irrelevant. As Americans, it is our obligation to accept assaults and insults graciously and alway acquiesce to whatever is demanded of us."

Stalin would have loved this "useful idiot".

Well, I suppose there is really no evidence to prove Muhammad was, in fact, demon-possessed after all.

Hmmm. Devisive rhetoric? Moses? Do you think the Jews thought he was using "devisive rhetoric" when he came down from the mount and saw the golden calf? Or how about John the Baptist in calling Herod an adulterer? Paul, John, Peter, and James in describing the charachter of a false prophet, teacher, or apostate?

Hmmm. Devisive rhetoric. We have forgotten how to call sin, sin. No one said it better than Jesus himself to the Pharisees: Mt 23:33 "You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?

Seems a bit devisive to me-----but JUSTIFIED.

Besides the fact that his comments were offensive to Muslims, Rev. Vines lacked basic understanding of Islam and Muslims.

Somehow, I think he understands all too well.

I am sorely disappointed to hear this. I've listened to Dr. Vines for many years now (that's really saying something as I'm a Lutheran).
He's the pastor of the largest Baptist church in Jax, and by all accounts a really upstanding guy. His sermons on "spiritual warfare" were not to be missed and probably are still available through First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.

CAIR can kiss my hairy white ass...

They should STFU, until Mosques are firebombed, Muslim women gang raped, and heads severed on video tape by Americans in America....

I would advise them to thank Allah, that they are HERE and not THERE -where comments such as they are making here could get their asses killed.

Semper Fi
