President Bush has been through so much garbage in the past year -- well, in the past FIVE years, but especially the past year. His enemies are very busy, looking for ways to impeach him, parsing every word he says, criticizing everything he does, all while he is trying to lead a nation during wartime and protect us from terrorist attacks, among other things. Let's lift him up in prayer especially as he prepares for, and delivers, his SOTU address. Note that there are some anti-Bush groups trying to get Democrats to walk out on him during the SOTU. I don't have any idea if this idea has any legs or not, but please keep that in mind as you pray. There are others who are trying to keep the "impeachment" drumbeat rolling, charging (falsely) that he is "spying on Americans" instead of surveilling terrorists. And while that's going on, Al Zawahiri is playing the media like a Stradavarius.
Lord, please give our President wisdom, poise, boldness, and a clear mind as he prepares to speak to the nation. Help him to do what is right and just. Please give him Your direction and give him the right words to say to the nation and to the world. Please confound his enemies bring him out victorious, in Jesus' name.
Please add your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for President Bush and his family! Maybe I've been reading too many moonbat-themed threads tonight, but I feel that we need to pray for his and his family's safety.
Most definitely! And his health. I can't imagine what it would be like to be under this much stress, day in and day out. And believe me, I've had to deal with a lot of continual stress over the past 5-7 years...but NOTHING that even approaches this scale. It's a good thing he has healthy habits.
Amen to that! And Lord, please help him to sense Your presence and speak the words through him you want us to hear, that a nation is blessed who's God is the Lord. That they who honor you, you will also honor.
Prayers for President Bush. May You lift him up during his most important speech. Protect him from his enemies And give him the words You want him to say. In Jesus name. Amen.

This weekend, the president referred to Bill Clinton as "his Brother" and laughed about a "Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton" president run, if Hillary wins in 2008!

Lord, please open his eyes and ears and help him to know who his true friends and enemies are.
Lord, the time for the SOTU has arrived. I ask for your mercy on this nation. Father, we have sinned against You in many ways and have strayed from Your path. We have forgotten You and have put You last instead of first. Please give us a heart of repentance, Lord. Please give us a heart to seek Your face and Your will. Please help us to be a blessing, as we have been blessed.
I pray for your blessing on President Bush as he speaks to the nation, and to the world. Please calm his spirit, give him supernatural energy, and help him to speak clearly and with authority. His enemies are ready, Lord, and they are waiting to find fault. Please give him favor with the people, and with the leaders of the world. Please open their hearts, and help them to see him as You do, Lord. I come against lying spirits and false accusations in the name of Jesus. Please go before the President, Lord, and bring his enemies to nothing.
The preparations are done, and now we put the SOTU in Your hands and trust You with the results. We thank You, Lord.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for answering our prayers. Thank you for encouraging and strengthening our president tonight and giving him confidence.
May his words touch the hearts of all Americans and our friends overseas.
Thank you for his words that honored our servicemembers and give them a clear vision for the job they are called on to do.
I pray that when the congress goes home tonight and dwells on the words he said, they can do what is right for our country and the world and to use their positions of authority to further justice and righteousness.
I also pray that the enemies of freedom and those that would murder innocents in the name of their god will understand the futility of their actions. Create in them a new heart that yearns for peace for their children and to forsake their terrorism. And if they do not, I pray that you will confound their plans and destroy their leaders and let peace reign in all the world.
We pray this in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
