Bull charges bullfight spectators
|
|
At least two people are being treated in hospital in Mexico City after a bull leapt into a crowd during a bullfight. The half-ton bull - named Parajito or Little Bird - breached the safety barrier and landed on the fans. The rampage ended when a fight participant entered the stand and killed the animal with his sword. Mexico City's bullring was built 60 years ago and is one of the biggest in the world, with a capacity of 48,000. Television images of the bullfight showed the beast jump over the heads of journalists and into the most expensive seats at the capital's vast ring. One woman spectator received a six-inch (15-cm) gash in her chest. The bullfight resumed 30 minutes after the incident. Little Bird is the first bull in the ring's history to jump into the crowd.

While I strongly believe in the rights of the individual, I think those who find these 'sports' enjoyable are, erm, Sick..... And not someone I want to be around. Amen.
I do not think these 'sports' should be legal since the animal has no say so in them.
They are simply cruel animal abuse.

I think it's terrible what they do to bulls, and I hate it and wish they wouldn't do it, but...
What I'm talking about was a show about bullfighting I saw once a long time ago. The matador failed to kill the bull, and the bull charged him and split his neck open with its horn.
The matador was being being taken away on a stretcher with his neck split open, his eyes wide, he was going into shock and blood was gushing everywhere. It was horrific. Sure, the matador probably had it coming, but I can't help but feel some compassion for someone injured so badly.
And the PETA person was acting glad that it happened, and that the matador clearly deserved to die.

One does not have to be a vegan to think that it's "sick" to enjoy animal torture, which is what bullfighting is, IMO.

Bullfighting. I'm not a fan.
IMHO, they should have given that bull a medal for that jump and let him retire in style.

I guess the last thing I'll say on the topic is that bull fights mean quite alot when you live in a place where poor and violent people walk out their doors everyday much closer to death than you (i.e. poor people in Colombia). There is more allegory to the whole affair.
If I'm sick, maybe I should see a doctor. I'm afraid of what else he might find.

the bull has a fair chance of goring the crap out of the bullfighter. No, it doesn't. They maim the bull before the matador gets in the ring with it. Note the barbed spears hanging from the animal's neck.

I've seen bullfights on TV.
I've seen dogs post-fight that had to be put down.
And I've been chased more than once by a pissy rooster with full spurs....does that count?

They are simply cruel animal abuse.
You are comfortable with animals being killed without a ritual that honors them, but want to have the government put people in jail for killing an animal in a ritual that brings viewers pleasure.
(If you don't like it, change the channel. And I'll bet you have never actually attended one.)

If you think that the bulls don't have a chance to injure or kill the Matador, you have never attended a bullfight.

actually, the only thing they do prior to putting the bull into the ring, is to give it a superficial flesh wound, which is intended to merely make the bowl mad.
The barbed spears are inserted by bullfighters while this angry bull is in the ring.
