Kosovo solution principles might apply to post Soviet space

MOSCOW, January 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded from Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that he seek universal approaches in resolving the Kosovo problem.

Lavrov, at a conference in the Kremlin on Monday, briefed the president on the upcoming meeting of the Contact Group on Kosovo settlement at the ministerial level. The present time is the crucial stage at the settlement as the talks on determining the final status of Kosovo have begun, Lavrov said.

"We'll be guided by our position of the necessity of finding a solution which would be acceptable both for Belgrade and Albanian leaders," the diplomat said.

This task is not easy, because Kosovo Albanian leaders openly state that nothing suits them except independence, which is at variance with UN Security Council's decisions.

Of course, one should make sure that the international community encourages both parties to seek a mutually acceptable solutions through negotiations, he added.

Putin, at the meeting in the Kremlin said "I draw your attention to the fact that it's an extremely important issue for us, too, not only from the point of view of meeting the principles of international law, but also in reasoning from practical interests of the post-Soviet space."

"All the variants of the proposed solutions which you'll be working out there - and I ask you to remind your colleagues about it - should be universal," Putin said.

It is very important for the post-Soviet territory. Regrettably, not all conflict in the post Soviet territory have been resolved; "we cannot go the way where one principle is applied in one case, and other principles in another," according to the Russian leader.

"One should bear in mind the universality of principles," Putin reiterated.

Lavrov assured him that the Russian delegation would work toward it.

He also informed the president that during preparatory work, some partners in the Contact Group were trying to write in documents the theses that Kosovo was a unique case that did not create precedents.

"We'll be fulfilling the president's instruction," Lavrov promised.

"A unique case is only for the one who wishes to circumvent the general principles of international law," Putin said.

"We've seen this uniqueness in certain regions of the world in the past few years; everybody is well aware what this uniqueness leads to," he said.

It's good when an article deems to mention that the relevant UN resolutions all acknowledge that Kosovo is part of Serbia. That it points out that the Albanian occupiers are not negotiating in good faith is also a plus.

With this much truth entering into the news from Kosovo, can the Serb Army be far behind?

Fine, let them take it up with the government in Belgrade. It's none of the outside world's business. The UN and NATO need to get out of there.

Exactly so. Russia wants to do to Georgia what was done to Serbia, Balkanize, partition and divide it.

Russia is now in the position of pushing for independence for Kosovo so that it can use the "international" precedent to carry out the same crime against Christian Georgia.

Russia acts hand in hand with the communist UN to undermine and subvert sovereignty and push "international law" and globalism.

Russia says UN should continue monitoring Kosovo - "Moscow has always advocated the key role of the UN in every stage of the Kosovo settlement."

Russia welcomes Balkans' integration into EU - "The role of the EU in the region will be constantly increasing until the issue of Balkans' integration in the European community is resolved."

I hope US learns 'Iraqi lessons': Putin - "We have repeatedly called our American partners' attention to this reality. Russia supports new international alliance - foreign minister - 11/10/2005 - During his Monday visit in Spain, Lavrov confirmed Russia's support for a Turkish-Spanish initiative to create an Alliance of Civilizations, which is designed to foster mutual respect for religious beliefs and traditions, along with stepping up cooperation between the Christian West and the Muslim East in the fight against terrorism and extremism. Man can just admire the brilliance of Russian politics:

They are standing aside, leting USA deal with world terrorists, They will add oil on fire, sell guns and rockets and nuclear technology to countries that USA will have to attack eventualy, and Russia will all the time critisyse USA for avrything gone bad.
And soon, USA will be streached out from Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanista, Iraq and who knows where!

Russia will than act as "peace negotiator", "UN concious", "Peace dove" etc... All the world will blame USA for evrything, and Russia will look like saint!

1. Kosovo- supporting Serbia, just to get USA involved without exit strategy (thanks Bill)
2. Ukraine, letting "Domocratic" goverment deal with freezing temperatures (hey, we just sell gas)
3. Georgina- "You, want democracy without Russia hehehehe... (connecting Kosovo with Abkhazia etc again, thanks Billy boy)
4. Arming Iran so that USA must eventually attack
5. What is next? Pushing Kosovo so that USA gets ahtened by Evry Christian in Europe.

Lets face it.
Bill Clinton (one that involved USA in Balkan stupidity) is a not-so-brilliant-guy-that-blows-in-sax and Russian president was high-ranking KGB oficer.
