Senator Ensign in Car Accident Jan 30, 2006, 12:03 PM EST
Senator John Ensign was transported to the hospital this morning following a car accident.
The accident happened before 8 a.m. near Paradise and Sands. Police say the driver of a Jeep swerved into Ensign's lane hitting his vehicle head on. Ensign's vehicle was also rear ended by another car.
Ensign was a passenger. His personal assistant was driving and also transported to the hospital. Both are said to not have life threatening injuries.
The vote would have been tomorrow.
Now there is one less vote for cloture. And reports are durbin is still rounding up the votes.
This is turning into a disaster.
You're a real glass-half-empty kind of person, aren't you?
;-)
That's good. I hope they both make full recoveries.
Bring it on. We are ready to go Nuclear.
I been waiting someone to post on this. O am fully expecting that this might give a push to some Dem shennigans relating to the vote and the State of the Union. Already the crazies over at DU wanted some walk out tomorrow. I expect some sleazy is going on or attempting to be done relating to the Bush tomorrow
I'll second that, it's the important thing.
The treshold for 'disaster' must be getting lower by the minute.
Speedy recovery to my Senator, John Ensign!
Uh......................................................................no.
Duck and cover.
Damn that Karl Rove!
We're all going to die, fer shore!
The so called 'Gang of 14' are going to vote as a group for cloture.
Relax: we're winning. Really. And I am going to enjoy watching the veins pop out on Captain Oldsmobile's neck this afternoon.
And if Jacques "Fillibuster" al-Query starts whirling his head and ululating, my day will be complete.
This is a disaster in the same sense as me spilling coffee is the holocaust.
Lieberman is pro filibuster and so is the hawaii senator on the gang of 14.
They should have had the vote last week when they were all there instead of having to rush everybody back for a monday vote.
I'll bet you still think Gore is going to win Florida.
What I dont get is do any Dem's think long term. I have never seen an article how stupid this is for the Dems in the long run. Look at it from HIllary Clinton viewpoint or anyone else there that wants to be Prez. It would seem to me that starting a precedent where liberals Senators will fillubuster an Conservative will set up a tradition of Conservatives fillabustering a liberal in the future. I mean if I was Clinton I be all for voting Alito knowing if she got to be Prez and didnt have the Senate under Dem control she could get her people on the court. It just amazes me the short sighted views of the Dems.
Alito will be confirmed so just relax
If any of the 'gang' support a filibuster then their 'agreement' is burnt toast.
