Al Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri, in videotape on Al-Jazeera, says U.S. airstrike against him in Pakistan failed.

What was on the agenda that would be so important to bring together the AQ operational planner for Pakistan and the AQ operational planner for Afghanistan...and the AQ chief bombmaker and head of the AQ media dept....along with the second in command of the whole world wide group.
This could easily have been spoken by Kerry or Kennedy, or for that manner any of the DNC or MSM.
30 January 2006: Zawahiri: alive and making threats!
A new video taped message from Al Qaeda second in command Dr. Ayman Al Zawahiri released on Al Jazeera TV indicates that the terror leader was NOT killed in the US air strike on Damdoula.
The portions of the tape which have been released to date do not mention the HAMAS victory in Palestine. This omission indicates that the tape was probably made before last week's elections which brought the Islamist terror group to power in Gaza.
This videotape directly references the Bin Laden audio message of eleven days ago.
Zawahiri states:
The lion of Islam, our Sheikh Osama bin Laden, may Allah protect him, have given you an honorable way out of this problem, but your leaders who are only interested in getting richer, are determined to take you into battle, kill your sons in Iraq and Afghanistan and, inshallah (Allah willing) in your own lands.
This quote appears to reference Bin Laden's offer to consider a truce should we propose one.
It appears that Zawahiri is making clear that in accordance with Islamic law, we have been warned and have been given an opportunity to "change our ways", and have refused.
Under the brand of Islamic law that Zawahiri practices, Al Qaeda has now met all of its obligations. It will very likely proceed with an attack.
The day, time, and method of attack are of their chosing; but it is obvious that it is their declared intent to attack the United States once again in our homeland.

In an interview [in 2005], Allawi made public information discovered by the Iraqi secret service in the archives of the Saddam Hussein regime, which sheds light on the relationship between Saddam Hussein and the Islamic terrorist network. He also said that both al-Zawahiri and Jordanian militant al-Zarqawi probably entered Iraq in the same period. "[Ayman] Al-Zawahiri was summoned by Izza Ibrahim Al-Douri – then deputy head of the council of the leadership of the revolution - to take part in the [Popular Islamic Congress] congress, along with some 150 other Islamic figures from 50 Muslim countries," Allawi said.
According to Allawi, important information has been gathered regarding the presence of another key terrorist figure operating in Iraq - the Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Allawi's remarks come after statements to al-Hayat by King Abdallah II of Jordan over Saddam's refusal to hand over al-Zarqawi to the authorities in Amman.
On this question Allawi said: ''The words of the Jordanian King are correct and important. We have proof of al-Zawahiri's visit to Iraq, but we do not have the precise date or information on al-Zarqawi's entry In Allawi's view, Saddam's government "sponsored" the birth of al-Qaeda in Iraq, coordinating with other terrorist groups, both Arab and Muslim. Soldiers found grenades, blasting caps, electronic components and "various solid and liquid substances," including white crystals and extremely fine, silvery powders in jars and plastic bags, and mysterious liquids in shampoo bottles labeled "special medicine." Then trace the call?? I'm just questioning why we don't access their phone records, do a search on their web records, etc. Maybe we are, but it just seems frustrating that OBL & Al Zawahiri seemingly are in a "remote place" yet have access to modern technology.
"at least now we know about how long it takes a tape to make it via courier from the tribal regions to Al Jazeera."
The only thing we do not know is how significant that is.
