LOS ANGELES RADIO STATION SQUARES-OFF WITH MUSLIM GROUP Mon Jan 30 2006 10:10:49 ET
Los Angeles's top talkradio station is under fire from a Muslim civil liberties group because of comments made earlier this month by morning man Bill Handel. The Council on American-Islamic Relations has demanded an apology from Handel for making fun of a stampede that killed hundreds of Muslims during an annual pilgrimage.
But the station and Handel are set to fire back, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Handel will apologize IF the Council on American-Islamic Relations:
1) Decries all acts of terror (described specifically, not generally)
2) Agrees that Israel is a sovereign nation with the right to defensible borders
3) CAIR has no ties of any sort, financially or otherwise, to any terror orgs or individiuals.
MANAGEMENT STATEMENT
KFI-AM does not condone making light of the deaths of people engaged in religious observances. We regret that listeners found the comments of one of our on-air hosts to be insensitive. KFI does not censor its hosts, nor does it tell them what to say or not to say. KFI is a strong and passionate believer in 1st amendment rights and that is at the very core of this radio station.

Unfortunately CAIR had success with getting Michael Graham off the air here in D.C. on WMAL.
Hope the radio station in Cali is not as "wussified" as WMAL.....
F--k Moohamed.
CAIR is the same organization that thinks the crescents on outhouses are racist symbols.
Handel is socially somewhat Liberal but he's a fairly conservative Jew and a very savvy commentator on *most* topics.
Handel and KFI have a lot of influence in the So Cal market. Handel is an extremely smart man and persuasive speaker. I'm glad he's going after CAIR.
Glad to see they have the backbone to do this because it sets them above the wimpy stations that wouldn't.
It's about time someone fires back at the terrorist funded CAIR. They want to be the ACLU of muslims. I don't see much of a difference between them now. Both organizations love terrorists and fight for their "civil rights". I never ever want CAIR to be given any credibility whatsoever asr a mainstream organization.
We get weekend re-airings of this guy here in Nashville, I think. His show is "Handel on the Law", right? I usually listen because there's nothing else on and I've forgotten to bring a CD. but I could become a fan if he keeps bashing these worshippers of 'allah'.
bttt
Don't forget he's a Nobel Peace Prize nominee!

I'm more of a KRLA 870AM guy, but I have to tip the hat to KFI if they
maintain this stance and don't fold like a lot of radio entities.
no believe it or not handle has a 4 hour monday through friday show here in the mornings. He also has the saturday show handle on the law. So his comments were on his M-F morning show.
KFI needs to check their fire and theft insurance. They may be using it in the not to distant future.
