He was one of the McCain 14, and said he'd not vote no against any judge, except it was an "extreme" issue. That's not the guts of the gang's agreement. The gang's agreement wasn't on how to vote on a nominee - it was to get to the vote. IOW, they agreed not to abuse cloture.

That's what they said, but not what they meant.
Liarman will use the "extreme" cases to vote against Alito, even if he didn't say so.
