Don't know! Turned it off when the swimmer started in....They're a waste of energy.....It takes energy just to listen to them.... Wish more "R" would emphasize they are doing this to please their lobbying base!

It's hilarious listening to these arrogant, elitist advocates of the total state arguing that Judge Alito sides with powerful institutions and against the average guy. When they had an opportunity to confront the judge with these stories he successfully explained every single one and made the Dems look ignorant and biased.
I think it is no longer necessary to defend Alito, it is now time to expose the Dems for the un-American constitution wrecking hacks that they are.

The accident happened before 8 a.m. near Paradise and Sands. Police say the driver of a Jeep swerved into Ensign's lane hitting his vehicle head on. Ensign's vehicle was also rear ended by another car.

I guess he was not planning to be in DC today to vote for cloture.

SNOWE DECRIES FILIBUSTER THREAT AGAINST ALITO
Contact: Antonia Ferrier (202) 224-5344 Monday, January 30, 2006
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME) today decried threats from prominent Senate Democrats to mount a filibuster preventing a vote on the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Snowe issued the following statement:
"While I have not made any decision yet on an up-or-down vote on the nominee itself, I find it regrettable that there are those who are trying to resurrect a filibuster even as there is clearly nothing in the record that constitutes extraordinary circumstances. This unfortunate effort only serves to further politicize and polarize this process when this should be a time of careful deliberation based on the facts of the nominee's record and testimony."

Just heard a report on Fox that a Rep Senator from Navada was in a car wreck and hospitalized. Anyone have any further info? I didn't hear it, but note news reports above, in this thread, that Ensign was in a head-on.

The cloture vote is Tuesday and he was probably on his way to the airport.

That was not a time management problem. Kerry did that purposefully so he can say he hasn't had enough time to speak. It won't work
He spoke twice last week and once this morning so far
He's had more time then any other Senator
BTW ... where is Boxer .. she hasn't spoken yet

Paradise and Sands is the route to airport, probably on his way to DC. Prayers up for him and his driver

I would like to know how accurate the arguments cases-in-point are accurately portrayed by these naysayers Listen to Rush, Hannity, Medved, and Hewitt on a regular basis and you would know they are all outright lies or half truths at best. Just smear campaign because they do not want Bush to have his pick of SCOTUS Justice - they have to submit their candidate and then Bush can advise and consent.

Lieberman announced on local CT radio this morning that he will not support the filibuster. Is this news or have we been assuming it? If official, it's news to me. I'd had in the noncommital column.
