in his text he writes a line that 'proves' Democrats believe even the highest courts are part of the political process:

" ... the party that has lost the White House, both houses of Congress, and now the courts ..."

'the party that has lost ... the courts.'

Political parties <--> courts. Only a Democrat sees them as aligned.

...the pathetic and apparently surprising inability of 45 Democratic senators to stop 55 Republicans from approving anyone they want...

Maybe you should ask President Kerry for help on this one.

And then there is election of 2000. We can argue forever (and will) about who won that election, but if the question is whose views attracted more voters, there is no dispute that the answer is the Democrats. Attributing 2000 to the Democrats means they have won two of the past three elections, three of the past four, and a non-apocalyptic three of the magic seven.

but if the question is whose views attracted more voters, there is no dispute that the answer is the Democrats

This guy DOES NOT get it at all. Still bitter about 2000 and actually thinks the RATs attracted more voters. Their views probably attracted more voter, but those views made more people vote for Republicans.

Gee, I knew Democrats were dumb, but I thought they at least knew that 45 is smaller than 55.

Democrats represent no one who is not actually waiting in line for a latte at a Starbucks within 150 yards of the east or west coastline. They are mired in trivial lifestyle issues like, oh, abortion and gay rights and Americans killing and dying in Iraq, while the Republicans serve up meat and potatoes for real Americans...

If one reads Mr Kinsley without the bitter veil of sarcasm, he almost has it right, by golly.

When Democrats lose elections, it is because they have lost their principles and lost their way.

I'll make Kinsley a deal... I'll bother to read the rest of this tripe if he can clearly lay out what the Democrats' "principles" are, and point me to any prominent Democrat (laughingstocks like Rangle or McKinney really don't count) publicly promoting a platform based on such "principles".

It's because they spend SO much effort trying to counter the horrible 'Right-wing Agenda'. By lying their asses off.

"They are mired in trivial lifestyle issues like, oh, abortion and gay rights and Americans killing and dying in Iraq, while the Republicans serve up meat and potatoes for real Americans, like privatizing Social Security ... ."

If you can not phrase the question correctly, you can not arrive at a correct answer.

The Democtrats stand for abortion on demand for any reason at any time. The American voters are begining to understand just what that really means, and are rejecting it, and with it, the Democrats that support that view.

The Democrats want to pull out of Iraq, and end the "war on terror", as if that is a real option. The American people understand that this war is not one of our making, and ending it before we win will just mean more Americans will die in this country.

The Democrats oppose any Social Security reform simply because a Republican proposes the reform. They know, as most Americans know, that Social Security as it stands today is broken, and if not changed will result in a bigger mess later.

So the Democrats know what concerns Americans, but have choosen to be on the opposite side of most voters on this issue. Unless they can convince the voters that they (the voters) are wrong, and they (the Democrats) are correct, they will continue to lose elections.

Where do I get in line to kick Michael Kinsley? Do you think anyone would notice if I went back to the end of the line 4 or 5 hundred times afterwards? Can I continue to kick him while he's down?

Mark
