FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENTShowing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above.
Honoring those who have served before.
******** That's right - the Canteen missionSupport the troops and all they do
 They've given up so much
 All for me and you
There are so many hereWho keep the aim sure and true
 They support the troops
And have lots of fun too

 We dance and play
 And spin on our toes
 A turn of phrase
 A joke or some prose
All for the troops Who visit and  bask
 Looking for a friend
 A break from their task
So thanks to my friendsYou know who you are
 This army sister's brother
 Is home from the war
You made my life easyYou taught me some things
 You brought me such peace
 You gave me wings
I'll always hold dearThe ones who have cared
Who gave me their true friendship
 Thank you FReeper Canteen.

Here is one of my favorites:

R.I.P Larry La Prise

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last year.

On October 27, 2005, Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

Mrs.N....((HUGS)) I can't wait til I can visit again. Work is keeping me busy 7 days a week, at least 10 hours a day. We are learning a new payroll system, and it sure isn't going very easily. I hope your work is going well.
