CARACAS, Venezuela - Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush's Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein (news, bio, voting record) to protest what she called the California lawmaker's support for the war in Iraq. ADVERTISEMENT
"She voted for the war. She continues to vote for the funding. She won't call for an immediate withdrawal of the troops," Sheehan told The Associated Press in an interview while attending the World Social Forum in Venezuela along with thousands of other anti-war and anti-globalization activists.
"I think our senator needs to be held accountable for her support of George Bush and his war policies," said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old soldier son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.

We'd have sound bites for the next millenium if this were to happen.

Perhaps Cindy and her band of misfits will camp outside of Dianne's
new house.

The scary thing is, there are a lot of people out there that will vote for a way out ideologue like Cindy. They live in the same fantasy land she does.

Well, look at it this way. If she wins, that would give us Californians 2 of the 3 dumbest Senators.

lol I would almost be tempted to donate to her campaign just to make her run more viable. if nothing else she could give Di-Fi a run for her money in the primaries, forcing Di to swing even furthur left than she is -- possibly opening up the middle and weakening Di-Fi in the general.
To take full advantage though, Repubs may have to be willing to stomach a Rino to have a shot at picking the seat off if Di-Fi has to abandon the middle to fight Cindy off. It will also require Pubs to get behind one viable candidate very very soon, so that candidate can start hammering on Di-Fi while she is still fighting off cindy.

Only if she runs independent in the November election. Is there a Republican challenger? If there is, this is the best chance to get a Republican in.
To: SoftballMominVA
I can't stand DiFi, but I think I may have to vote in the Dem primary just to ensure that Cindy doesn't get in as the Dem candidate.

Navyblue, please reconsider. My personal opinion is that if Cindy S were to beat DiFi in the primaries, she would get creamed in the election...IF...if...the repubs were to nominate someone who was not as bad (not a foregone conclusion, IMO).
If Cindy does run in the primary, I will vote for her.
