Your gun must have been a piece of garbage. My Kimber .45 is extremely accurate.

It was a standard issue M1911 .45 out of the armory. Maybe just a bad pistol, but man was I unimpressed, compared to a Beretta 9mm I've fired and hit small targets 25 meters away.
So is my Springfield Armory .45.
I agree, you can practically drive nails with a lot of the newer 45's. I am particularly impressed with S&W's version of the 1911.
Kustom Karry only way to go...a true accurate rapid fire "combat" handgun - try squeezin' off rounds with a Schlock as fast a you can a 1911 frame - it takes forever...btw the Fairfax County cops accidentially killed a suspect last week - bet (maybe a bad choice of words the guy was wanted for gambling charges) the inquiry will reveal a Schlock went off "inadvertently"...
