Can Jindal beat John Breaux?
That would be a tough one. IMO Breaux would be hard to beat b/c he would get the 40-45% dem votes that a dem gets just for showing up. He's positioned himself enough to the center that he might be able to swing enough swing votes to get in. He'll also get the southwest La. cajun vote. My husband, who very seldom misses on picking elections b/c of a lifetime involved w/ politics here, says Breaux pulls in just enough votes from enough places to win. I'm not saying I agree or like it, but that's probably the reality.
Breaux has always been one of my favorite southern democrats...at least I dont dislike him, which says alot. I would hope that if he did win the governorship he would govern from the center. Unfortunately the good ole boy dem network would still be in play so we'd still have many of the same problems as always.
I'm looking for a republican to beat Mary Landrieu. She's at her most vulnerable right now. We'll know she's really shaking in her liberal boots is she votes FOR Alito. The only way she's do that is if her internal polling is showing a nosedive b/c her base is spread all over the country. I just hope they dont "find" enough illegitimate voters to fraudulently steal the election.
"Can Jindal beat John Breaux?"
Nope. If Breaux runs Jindal would be smart to stay where he is until Moon's baby girl comes up for reelection again.
Jindal would walk all over Blanco given her track record but Breaux is the most widely respected politician in the state and is untainted by scandal, if that's possible in this state. He'll be seen, if he runs, as a white knight riding to the rescue of his state and would pull the same North LA rural cracker vote that wouldn't vote for Jindal before.
