Almost two-thirds of Americans (63%) consider illegal immigration a very serious or extremely serious problem in the United States, according to a TIME Poll. The majority (74%) believes the U.S. is not doing enough to secure its borders. . . .
TIMEs Poll shows that half (50%) of Americans favor deporting all illegal immigrants back to their home countries (45% oppose). Three-in-four (76%) favor allowing illegal immigrants in the U.S. to earn citizenship if they learn English, have a job and pay taxes. . . . Meanwhile 700,000 undocumented immigrants from around the world continue to enter the U.S. each year, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.
"It thus clearly appears that, by the law of England for the last three centuries, beginning before the settlement of this country and continuing to the present day, aliens, while residing in the dominions possessed by the Crown of England, were within the allegiance, the obedience, the faith or loyalty, the protection, the power, the jurisdiction of the English Sovereign, and therefore every child born in England of alien parents was a natural-born subject unless the child of an ambassador or other diplomatic agent of a foreign State or of an alien enemy in hostile occupation of the place where the child was born."

Well, for starters, law enforcement officials in every state in the union have knowledge that illegal immigrants are currently working in any number of jobs, from food service and landscaping to road construction and home building. The police sit and watch the local Mapco convenience market each morning as men in pickup trucks pull into the parking lot to pick up non-english speaking Mexicans to do various jobs for them at a dirt cheap rate. No bookkeeping, tax records or accounting of any kind. I've seen innocent men in their Dodge pickup simply driving up to get coffee and have their vehicle stormed by a group of 15 illegal immigrants. Is that right?
Our federal gov't and law enforcement at all levels know exactly what is going on, but they choose to turn their heads and pretend that they don't see it. After all, business and money talks. Greed has taken over everything, and it's like the whole nation has turned common sense on its head for the sake of a few greenbacks.
There's no turning back now. This nation has become too corrupt, too greedy and too selfish. It's just like abortion.......it will never be illegal in this country. I am a staunch pro-lifer, but I have come to the realization that our culture is too far gone to turn the tide. I'm not naive enough to think that women are suddenly going to put their babies before their careers, nights out, loose behavior and "it's my body" mentality. And as long as men continue to be morally irresponsible, this trend of killing unborn children will continue. Our culture is one of expediency, convenience, glamour and success. Babies get in the way of that many times, and I don't see our society having a change of heart.
We need families again. Marriage. Commitment. Monogamy. That's the only thing that will turn the tide. It ain't happening.
Honestly, I didn't know the caselaw to prove my point. Thanks a ton.

They do? Where? Have you called and reported it?
I have extensive experience with my local law enforcement on this issue, and let me tell you, they simply laugh in your face when you even mention the words "illegal immigrants". Our local police chief says that they have no jurisdiction on the issue of illegal immigration! What a lie that is! It's just their excuse for not having to do anything about it.
I know that you doubt much of what I say, but it's all true. Law enforcement here in Nashville, TN wants nothing to do with illegal aliens. I think that others who live here can back up my story. Better yet, call up radio talk show host Phil Valentine and he can tell you much more.
Try reporting to the Feds... maybe you'll have more success.
There is a legal thingy in relation to lacks jurisdiction. Sorry if you don't like it. Again, try to change the law.
You know... only state police can cite you for speeding on a state highway, not a local PO.
Yeah, Secretary Chertoff and President Bush seem so concerned about illegal immigration. I'm so sure that they have no idea that it's even going on!!!!!!
Good grief. The mentality is the same from top to bottom. The fix is in.
Money and political correctness. That about sums it up.
Make that 50% plus one.
Illegal immigration is a completely different matter than illegal immigrants being granted welfare aid when they shouldn't.
How do those babies apply for welfare?
How do they cash the welfare checks?
How do they get to the store to buy their diapers, clothing, etc?
Their parents apply and they are granted aid. Like I've stated many many times in this thread... if you don't like the law... work to change it.
Are we going to qualify that only US citizens who are parented by US citizens can get welfare?
Illegals can't legally get welfare. Many illegals have false documents so they do get welfare. There are many illegals on government assistance programs.
It doesn't bother an illegal to obtain benefits by breaking the law; they have already broken the law by entering illegally.
And when discovered, they are civilally prosecuted. What's your point? Even US citizens get welfare illegally and are prosecuted.
only half?!?!
Even in states where it is not legal for illegal aliens to get government assistance, they can and do get welfare by using false documents.
BTW, did I mention my husband worked for the fraud unit? Fraud isn't discriminating as to whether or not a person is legal or not. They pursue both US citizens and illegal immigrants.
Raids on businesses would not be something new, it was done for many, many years by Immigration officers. It is something that was toned down several years ago because our politicians chose not to enforce the laws in place. Business raids do still happen, just infrequently. In fact as things are now, ICE officers can and do raid businesses when they choose. They just don't choose to very often.
First off, I propose a change stop the abuse of the 14th Amendment.
Second, here in Arkansas, we sent the parents back to Mexico and gave them the choice to take their children with them or leave them with friends and family.
They left the kids behind, and got themselves a Free Pass back to Arkansas from all the bleeding heart multi culturists who don't understand the difference between Legal and Illegal.
Children belong with their parents, so if we ship the parents back to Mexico, the kids should go with them untill they are 18.
There are many ways around the Anchor Baby scam.
BTW, why should we be held to the exact letter of the LAW when the ILLEGALS don't respect it to begin with? Humm?
sw
Actually, the Bush administration has been taking a more active role in the prosecution of employers who hire illegals. Where have you been?
