Bob Woodward and photographer injured in IED attack.
Yeah, it was VERY sad.
With friends like the "insurgents", who needs enemies?
Gee, what a shame.... ahhh, that a left-wing journalist was attacked that is. And from those nice extremist insurgent freedom fighters no less. Gee, the left-wing media has given them every bit of help they possibly can!
And I read that Brian Williams praying for him??? "Brian Williams said he had been in touch with Woodruff's family and is praying for the families of both men". Really. How does a left-wing atheist pray, just out of curiousity? In the name of Jesus? Naw, that would be too inflamatory and offensive to other religions. Maybe he prays in Allah's name or in the name of the Great Divine One if He Really Exists!!!
I personally feel that about 5000 other liberal/left-wing MSM should flood the country right now and search diligently for the "insurgent freedom fighters" in order to understand them better. sarc>
The driver was uninjured, so you are correct, the reason for the injuries was because they were outside when the IED went off.
I am praying for both of them.

Updated: Sun. Jan. 29 2006 7:18 PM ETABC News anchor Bob Woodruff and Canadian cameraman Doug Vogt are both in stable condition Sunday following surgery for injuries suffered in an explosion while reporting in Iraq.
Woodruff and Vogt were embedded with the 4th Infantry Division and travelling with U.S. and Iraqi troops when an improvised explosive device detonated near Taji, which is about 20 kilometres north of Baghdad.
"They were with an Iraqi army unit at the time the attack occurred and are at a U.S. military medical facility now," U.S. military spokesman Lt.-Col. Barry Johnson said.
Both suffered head injuries and were evacuated to a U.S. military hospital for surgery, ABC News President David Westin said. They were wearing body armor and helmets, the network said.
Vogt was reportedly awake and lucid after undergoing surgery to remove a piece of shrapnel that had penetrated his skull. He will undergo more surgery in a day or two to remove more shrapnel from his shoulder...
CNN just had on their resident Dr. who said he thinks the reports are that shrapnel didn't penetrate their brains. So that's the good news. He said if they were awake and talking, the hospital would have said so...but if they were still on breathing machines, this would explain that. Still in serious condition. Vogt, the cameraman has a broken shoulder, as well.
...ABC reported senior producer Kate Felsen had been working with Woodruff for the past two weeks.
"He wanted to get out and report the story and not be locked in and taking information from someone else who was experiencing it," Felsen said. She said she spoke with Woodruff and Vogt after the attack.
"Doug was conscious, and I was able to reassure him we were getting them care. I spoke to Bob also and walked with them to the helicopter," Felsen said...
ABC is not about news, only propaganda that is useful to their cause, with a little infotainment to keep your attention. For example: The positive turnout for elections in Iraq was news, hence, not something you might see on ABC. The riots in France were mostly muslim youths. Again, not something you would know watching ABC
Yeah? I remember another recent headline: "12 Mineworkers Survive Blast"
Sadly his brain was injured before the bomb. He is a liberal.
LOL< easy those kevlar helmets suck!
Read this from the US Army:

Note that the kevlar was shot with a glacing blow, yet still penetrated the material. If I can find the picture I will post it.
Ahh Balad, what a $#!t-hole :)
"That photo looks photoshopped, IMO."
Not so sure... it is a tough downward angle to photoshop and have it look this good. There is likely another lighting person holding a reflector on the soldier from behind to give the added shadow. The point is that this is exactly what journalists do. Why photoshop something that is essentially true to life?
I bet they still report -- from his hospital bed. The seething rage of the Left is insatiable.
Stupid comment!
That boar hog would have been my ex-girlfriend before she was my girlfriend.
#613: "So let more of their seditious 'reporters' be blown up"
You just accomplished a rare feat in rendering me almost speechless.
#615: "The seething rage of the Left is insatiable."
Read #1 again and look in the mirror.
"ABC is not about news"
They are for some people. Don't watch them. I don't.
I gave up hours ago.
