Bob Woodward and photographer injured in IED attack.
tallhappy has been rabblerousing for an earlier statement. Neets and leadpenny called him on it. Nobody has called for a zot yet, because tallhappy is still digging the hole.....
Ok, I get your point.
He is not a routine journalist, he is an anchor man so he is not to be considered an IMBED and had no reason to be there.
he didn't want to understand, that was just his own ploy to needle and denigrate you.....he knew perfectly well what you meant the first time.
A rather apt one.
ABC changes their News program to have anchors do the show from different places, like Iraq in this case, and build their advertising campaign around this change. Unfortunately this decision lead to this event.
Stupid R Us!
Ever hear of media pools? Instead, he wants to put himself in the middle enemy fire. Sheesh.
Needle yes, denigrate no. I really didn't know what he meant.
"Stupid is as stupid does."
Neets, I understand where You are coming from. I mean, these are human beings we are talking about; one a father of four children and the other a father of three.
Regardless of their unfortunate political leaning toward the left, I still feel badly about these two guys being injured and hope they recover fully. That is not to say that I've forgotten about our troops of course.
No; they were doing a story on the progress of the Iraqi military. You obviously have to BE WITH THEM to tell the story, unless of course you want to do a half-assed job.
They were still under the banner of the U.S. military.
Well, truth be told, it was a Marketing Ploy on our part.
StupidSpecialists.
It was marketing to decide to do things this way.
Purely coincidentally last night I heard their commercial on the radio about how they now move the anchors around to wherever news is happening. They made a big deal out of it as part of their marketing.
Jennings is dead, Brokaw retired, Rather was dumped. The three networks are trying to come up with formats -- I call thim gimmicks -- to set themselves apart and win the rating war.
That's all I was ever referring to.
I have no particular reason to wish this man ill, so I hope he recovers from whatever has happened to him, but my first thought when I read this piece was that the media set it up.
The same way they plotted the Bush NG memo, or set up their car tests to make them roll, explode, etc., they set this situation up.
Obviously, I can't prove it.
Hmmm, how 'bout that?
I would rather be more informed than being a princess writer.
I was taught by liberals at a NY public school but I am working on it.
No excuses as I earn my humiliation as I post.
One of my gues deployed in DEC for a research project of his.
When he came back this month, he told me he was there for 25 days; saw 20 soldiers killed in those 25 days.
This is a Major who was in the first Iraq war.
I never forget any of them.
"Instead, he wants to put himself in the middle enemy fire. Sheesh."
Sorry, that's something we should celebrate.
You are a retired ARMY chaplain and can type that with a straight face????
Please, PLEASE tell me you did not mean that this PARTICULAR IED incident was a media set up.
Please don't be offended but I read your posts real s-l-o-w, because that's the way I imagine you speaking.
No, we won't, never.
It appears that you have understood what I wrote.
As I stated, I don't know the details, but I saw this headline and my first thought was set-up.
Who knows better than Hollywood how to stage an explosion?
This really speaks to my distrust of anything out of the MSM, doesn't it?
All that said, I hope for a speedy recovery from any injuries sustained.
