I wouldn't of said that same type of comment if I were alive during the time of WW2 about the media when the MSM was actually on our side.Everyone should buy and read the book "My War" by, of all people, Andy Rooney. It's all about how he and everyone else covered WWII, and from today's perspective, it is stunning how steadfastly pro-American the reporters were, every last one of them. It's a great read, and it's been a few years since it was published so you can probably find copies on eBay or half.com for a couple of bucks.

I see. You know everyone who works for ABC. I can't and wouldn't want to argue with you.

It's grandstanding, and when you grandstand, sometimes you get hurt. Never watch a firefight.
If Iraq is as bad as World News Tonight has told us since Day Two of Iraqi Freedom, would it make sense--as a journalist--to venture out there when other journalists have been kidnapped?
Didn't some of our soldiers get killed the other day or something? I guess they had names and identities--but no matter, they're not media personalities. They're only useful in the faceless collective for Bush bashing purposes, you understand.
Hope that Mr. Woodruff and the rest recover.

The media will never report what has been done to the likes of Jessica Simpson,Jessica Simpson? Whatchoo talkin' about Willis? ;^)

My intent was only to respond to the notion of it being a "set up" in order for ABC to bash Bush.
As far as the photographer and being American targets, in this particular case, I should have called them western targets.
The insurgents/jihadists sure seem to have an inability to understand that half of the people they kidnap and hurt sympathize with them.
Of course, "these people" also don't seem to understand that the insurgents/jihadists don't care that they are on their side. They are western infidels and that is all that matters.

You know everyone who works for ABC.Indeed. Some people haven't figured that out yet.

I forget her name, the blonde soldier who was captured in the early days of the war.
I never was good at names. Anyhow, the media suppressed a lot of info concerning her few days in captivity, including the antics of the "hero" who supposedly lead our elite troops to the rescue site.

World News Tonight" co-anchor Bob Woodruff and his cameraman Doug Vogt are stable after being injured in Iraq. They will be moved to U.S. medical facilities in Landstuhl, Germany.Good news. They are not out of the woods, but they are receiving the best care possible. From the best people in the world. The United States military.
To: Colorado Doug
Granted, some journalists do support America but not anyone that works for ABC. That said, I do feel for the families and the two injured but I don't let that cloud my judgment as to what they intended to do over there.
My God, do people actually believe stuff like this? Do you realize what you sound like? Please present some evidence that Woodruff hoped for America to fail or that Woodruff was actively working to undermine the United States. Is everyone of a different political stripe than you deserving of serious injury and death? I've watched Woodruff's reporting from Iraq, and I've never seen anything to make me think of him as anything other than someone doing a job that they happen to really like. I actually still remember his good reporting from Kabul during the fall of the Taliban.

I heard a radio spot touting ABC news just last night. Their pitch was how the anchors were all over and that anchors don't need to be anchored.
It seemed a gimmick.
This unfortunate fellow seems seriously injured due to some marketing gimmick.

To me he is just another liberal journalist who is impeding our troops and Nations progress with the war on terror.
