The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 29nd, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.; Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind.; Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean; former Commerce Secretary Don Evans.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): President Bush.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.; Dominique Dawes, Olympic gymnast.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : White House counselor Dan Bartlett; Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; former President Carter; former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Despite the recent attempts of the George Orwell led Democrat party to rewrite history, support for invading Iraq crossed over party lines very strongly.
The resolution (HJ Res 114) to authorize the use of any and all military force that the President deemed necessary was 296-133 in the House and 77-23 in the Senate. That's incredibly strong bipartisan support, given the makeup of the dims in Congress.
I think it would be better to have them in the afternoon here, too.
LOL!
NOPE! I am here....so not EVREYONE anyway...LOL!
I guess I missed what happened to the president's line item veto power. I found the following, which is informative, but what is the status now?

"..."
The line-item veto, a pillar of the House Republicans' "Contract With America," passed both houses of Congress overwhelmingly and was signed into law in early 1996.
It took effect during the budget year that began Oct. 1.
The law has been challenged in court for radically altering the balance of power within the federal government without the enactment of a constitutional amendment. Many experts believe the law will be struck down, but until it is, the president for the first time in history may delete individual spending items from appropriations bills without vetoing the entire bill."

ANYONE, ANYONE???
Ex-Pres. Jimmah Carter will be coming up on CNN in a bit.
Awww sleuth...do I have to watch?
hmmmmm
i think i would rather lick my kitchen floor clean....
he makes me ill.....
I'll bet they did! I can't imagine they would have come up w that on their own (ok, York might have)
I know .. but all it does is make them look petty in the eyes of the Moderate Dems Voter
President Bush is a gentleman...and has respect for the office of the POTUS...so, he will NOT bash Clinton on nationwide TV...
But, I wouldn't look for the Clintons to be invited to Crawford....
Clinton, who's currently challenging Al Gore in the stupid speeches department?
NOPE....I will do the dirty deed...and watch and post...just don't let the thread run off and leave me again..
I always get in on the end because of the time difference and catching them later in the day.
I think you're both right. Isn't it interesting the Democrats are reduced to delaying a vote as a sign of their power? They are not in control of the Presidency, the House or Senate, and are losing their control of the Supreme Court. So now, a delay is considered a win for them. Pathetic pandering to their far left base is what it's all about.
NOPE....I will do the dirty deed...but, you be sure and keep the thread from running off and leaving me again...
I'd rather spend time with my inlaws
62 - that's great!
"Notice that filibuster is not the talk of the town?"
Yes, simply amazing. We all know if they had the votes, it would be non-stop talk on every station!
Fair enough...Carter is so far off the dumba$$ scale, I can no longer tolerate him.
President Interviewed by Bob Schieffer
If you end up agreeing with me, you'll be the only one. ;)
