The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 29nd, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:

MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): President Bush.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.; Dominique Dawes, Olympic gymnast.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : White House counselor Dan Bartlett; Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; former President Carter; former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
Oh yeah.... silly me.
Hearings are already scheduled.
I doubt they will be as dramatic as you think, and I seriously doubt they will result in any compromise to national security. It's possible to discuss what constitutes reasonable targets, and what constitutes reasonable oversight, without dislosing one iota of our "intelligence gathering supposed secrets."
In fact, if plyaed right, the hearings can marginally improve the surveillance effectiveness. I certainly don't see any harm coming from Congress expressing that it sees eye-to-eye with the President's actions.
For whatever lame reason, the dem rats bring up the library exclusion as their main goal.
They forget that some of the 9/11 murderers got their plane tickets and boarding passes at a library.
We cannot back down and allow them a library exclusion.
This gets back to the argument about who does the Constitution and Federal laws apply to? Look at illegal aliens as starters!! Terrorists in Gitmo are now supposed to be given lawyers and appeal charges for the next 25 years, give me a break. The system is broken and those responsible are the commie LLL and the lawyers.
Re your link to the EtherZone: Do you know of even ONE person...besides the clintons...who have connections to 63 people who died under suspicious circumstances ?
I didn't see the interview....so I will not take sides..but, from watching Schieffer in the past...
I can't see that he would go out of his way to think up interesting questions...I am sure that he went to "hackneyed questions R US"...
Morning cboldt...If it was not an election year, I would be worried. With the polling numbers showing this to be viewed as a national security issue, the Dems will treat it with some respect.
I will watch the FOX Sunday show later this afternoon...
but, I saw Juan on Brit's show the other night...and he was pushing for the US to keep funding Hamas...because, he said, if "we don't, someone else will"...
great reasoning, there, Juan.
See #617. I'm finished posting about it. Most of what I found was through internet searches. Forgive me, but it's a tawdry story and I adore Brit Hume.
It's semantics. Continued debate is what "no" on cloture nominally stands for. But if continued debate is not necessary for a Senator (or for the Senate) to reach a conclusion, then voting to continue debate is an abuse of cloture.
The technically correct meaning of "filibuster" is the use of any parliamentary practice to delay or stifle completely, reaching conclusion on a matter before the body.
So, Biden is saying that more debate is needed - when in fact, he has already made up his mind, said so, and said why.
He wants it both ways
I hope you are right...but, I just don't trust the Congresscritters to NOT use this as yet one more excuse, with the National...and international audience..
To get on their soapboxes..and campaign for funds with their lefty sugar daddies..
I have to go to that other thread to learn this latest subversive activity by MALDEF.
They are the ones who have gotten courts to overturn the results of voting, destroying our power of our vote. Example: Prop 187 in California.
So I begin to see the connection: They need judges in place that they can use for THEIR agenda.
MALDEF is a huge, pervasive powerful organization that is playing multi-culti political correctness for all it's worth. Wake up, conservatives, and pay attention to this org possibly even more dangerous than ACLU.
MALDEF is muy malo.
That is one reason; the other is to pander to their rabid LLL base that have been inundating the Senators with fax and e-mail over the weekend. They rant on about how "If Alito is confirmed this nation will disappear as we now know it - whahahahahahah."
Morning Fuddie, I agree that that is one story not worth much attention.
But I, like others, apparently knew nothing about it.
I sure hate it for Brit and his family, regardless of the circumstances.
I agree.
Yay..I caught up....so, where is everybody??
Has everyone moved to a new thread, just as I get HERE???
On top of it all, the Prez praises Bill Clinton one more time. Talk about bad judgment. LOL Looks like Bush is looking forward to the day he becomes a member of the ex-presidents club when he can join his Father and hang out with Slick Willie.
