For All The Ladies Of The Canteen
Naps

Sometimes, when I want to get away from it all
I leave the kitchen, corners and halls
And slowly curl up with my chin upon my tail
To sink into a stretch of carpet tall and lush
Only to feel a small weight slowly slide
Over my back and shoulders, brushing thick and plush
To press against the back of my arms
In a delicate manner that I can certainly abide
The weight is not great and I can escape
Any time that I do so desire
Though there is something to be said about the charm
Of having my very own blanket by the fire

I had a cat, Bandit, long ago that looked just like that kitten.
Great poem, Jack.

Thanks Jack.
Over my back and shoulders, brushing thick and plush
I woke up this morning with kitty head across my forehead.
Very "In Your Face Get Up and Feed Me" type deal.
So cute.
