Your Mental Attitude - Cornerstone
Waste of time is one of the most costly expenses on lifes ledger . . . it can never be reimbursed.
Thousands of people would never have experienced the bitterness and helplessness of want if they had not first been guilty of WASTE.
There is a constant dissipation of thought and feeling, just as there is of physical energies. Each in turn exacts its heavy toll from us.
Dissipation of thought and feeling proves wasteful and ruinous to the mind and heart the same process is equally as destructive to health and strength of the body.
As one man puts it: Dreamy revelries, desultory reading, unregulated and scattering thought, plans formed without reason, or never carried out to wise results, are as truly dissipation of the soul as the wildest revelries and indulgences are of the body.
Waste produces decay, stagnation, barrenness, unproductivity, lack, ruin, destruction, want.
Wasting time on the job or money from our savings doesnt make much difference
both have the same end result.
Squandering or wasting time can never be accurately tabulated for us, but most of us are keenly aware of how destructive it can be and how terrifically costly.
YOU can do something about it by developing the habit of thrift. By substituting thrift for waste, you will have made an extremely valuable forward step.
Cultivate this important thrift habit in all things . . . be saving of your time .. . on the job or off . . . saving of materials and equipment . . . on the job or off . . . thrifty with physical energies . . . thrifty with unregulated and scattered thinking. .
It will pay YOU big dividends in all directions to cultivate this all-important habit of being thrifty with your time, energy, thoughts and material possessions. Learn to be careful in avoiding waste or dissipation in the small things and the larger ones will automatically fall into the same pattern.
It is entirely up to YOU during each day to calculate and control WHAT PRICE you want to pay for WASTE. We never fail because we are too thrifty in safeguarding our time, thoughts or physical energies . . . but because we are not thrifty enough.

EGee, we've have a great winter so far, not nearly as bad as last year. We're watching the growing possibly of a big storm coming in Tuesday morning, however, which may change things a bit. Yesterday was 60º. How about you? {{{HUGS}}}

Even in a winter as mild as this one we're having, we still only don a sweatshirt to go outside whent it's mid-30ºs. I never said we weren't nuts.

Birds
An abundance of birds reside here the Gold Finch lives here all year his brilliant yellow fades to olive in fall so if one doesn't know this you'd think he was not here at all.
The Cardinal is here two by two he and his wife quite content to be nestled in fir trees as winter's winds howl eat sunflower seeds 'tween their crossed beak and flight away in the wink or a click of the teeth.
Woodpeckers small, and large and tall, hammer away at suet wrapped in a ball. Old hollow trees they adore making a home with a round door. The Pleated Woodpecker lives in the woods. I've not seen one myself, but I should.
The Nuthatch scoots down the trunk upside down such a clown they ferret out bugs from the bark and open the way for the Meadow Lark.
The little Black Headed Chickadee a pleasure to see, very tame and curious they come to feed on sunflower seeds or any thing else.
A plethora of birds live here bringing much good cheer they sing out their songs on a crisp cold day, I am assured, of a colorful display each new day.

We got around an inch of rain.

Ga. unit that rescued Jessica Lynch honored
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published on: 01/28/06 SAVANNAH The Army has awarded its third-highest unit citation to the special operations unit that participated in the high-profile rescue of former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch.
The 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, based in Savannah, Ga., received the Valorous Unit Award during a Friday ceremony at Hunter Army Airfield.
"Being a special operator, a Ranger, is not a job. It's who you are," said special operations commander Lt. Gen. Robert W. Wagner.
The battalion helped rescue Lynch from an Iraqi hospital during a nighttime raid and dug up the bodies of eight soldiers who had been killed in fighting with Lynch's unit.
A convoy from Lynch's company took a wrong turn and was attacked in the Iraqi town of Nasiriyah in March 2003. Eleven American soldiers were killed and six were captured, including Lynch. She suffered two spinal fractures, nerve damage and a shattered right arm, right foot and left leg when her Humvee crashed during the battle.
More than 50 individual awards were also presented to Rangers, including a Bronze Star for valor and 40 Bronze Star medals for service. In addition, the Army awarded five Commendation medals and eight Purple Hearts.
In August, Lynch started classes at West Virginia University, one of several universities that offered her a scholarship so she could achieve her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher.
The battalion recently returned from a three-month split deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.
