Cindy Sheehan Still Eyeing DiFi Challenge

Anti-American "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan may run against California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sheehan's spokeswoman said Friday - even though Feinstein has met Sheehan's demand to back a filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Sam Alito.

"There are still a lot of other issues" where Sheehan and Feinstein disagree, her assistant Dede Miller told the Associated Press, citing Feinstein's support for the Iraq war.

In a statement released Friday from Caracas, Venezuela, where she's attending an anti-American conference host by President Hugo Chavez, Ms. Sheehan warned that if the California Democrat didn't back an Alito filibuster, she had "decided to run" for her Senate seat.

"I'm appalled that Diane [sic] Feinstein wouldn't recognize how dangerous Alito's nomination is to upholding the values of our constitution and restricting the usurpation of presidential powers," the Peace Mom said.

Around the same time, Sen. Feinstein's office announced that she would back an Alito filibuster, reversing a position she had confirmed only last Sunday, when the senator told CBS News: "I don't see those kinds of egregious things emerging that would justify a filibuster."

In a statement posted to her web site Friday, however, Sen. Feinstein insisted that she had changed her mind even before Sheehan issued her demand, saying: "I tried to indicate in my floor statement yesterday [that] I’ve decided that I will vote no on cloture."

But Sheehan's spokeswoman said it may be too late for the California Democrat to head off the Peace Mom's challenge.

Many supporters have been asking Sheehan to run for office, Miller insisted, telling the AP: "Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if she did."

When Feinstein heard her master's command, she rolled over and barked 3 times. Good doggie, Cindy said to Feinstein, as she threw her a nice dry bone.

But still a lesson must be learned here.

She-man sure thinks she's something, doesn't she. What a crazy moonbat.
Maybe we can encourage her to run for the presidency in '08.
That would be funny, especially if she won the nomination.

I'd like Jihad Cindy to push the Democrats here way to the extreme Left.

This is pretty amazing. Feinstein feels she has to respond to CINDY SHEEHAN!

It would be hilarious if Sheehan would unseat Feinstein. Cindy would have the honor of replacing Patty (tennis shoes) Murray as the ditziest senator on the Hill.

Why not? Sharpton would love it, especially since he made that special trip to see her in Texas!

Starting a Sheehan/Sharpton exploratory committe would be messy though...
