Abbeville man accused of impregnating 10-year-old stepdaughter

The stepfather of a 10-year-old girl was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor after she became pregnant, police said.

William Edward Ronca, 26, was being held Friday at the Abbeville County jail.

The girl's mother told The (Greenwood) Index-Journal that she had no idea her daughter was pregnant.

A school guidance counselor told the mother the girl was acting withdrawn and not participating at school. The girl was later taken to Abbeville County Memorial Hospital, where it was discovered she was about seven to eight months pregnant.

Warrants said Ronca had been having sex with the girl for about a year, and told her not to tell anyone.

Ronca has a child with the girl's mother, according to police reports. The couple is getting a divorce.

Ronca was arrested Tuesday.

We drank lots of milk but didn't eat a whole lot of beef (more due to our income level than health concerns).

He must have a say in elections too!

Just because someone rapes his 10 year old step daughter is no reason to deny his right to vote democrat.

If he is guilty, double barrel 12 gauge genital therapy might also work to "reform" him.

Sounds like Mom had blinders on for a long time....think about it....it sound like she got pregnant pretty soon after she became fertile.

He could have been molesting her for years. And many of these 'mothers' turn a blind eye, or want to pretend it's not happening.

Lastly, by the time I was in 5th grade, I knew of two sisters who were molested by their father in 3rd grade, a 14 year old pregnant by her step dad, plus the crap in my own life. To me, it was one of the bad things of having to be a child.

Didn't Mohamed have an 8 year bride? A baseball bat (or big stick) to the head of that creep would have saved the world a lot of heartache.

I think it's difficult for some to understand just how outrageously damaging and horrific this man's behavior/actions are, just what damage it does to a child of this age (or younger or even older, the point is that she's now ten years old and it's said that he was molesting her for a year prior to, so that means this activity started when she was eight or maybe nine).

It's something that really robs someone of a lot, way beyond the physical. Combined with the fact that it was a parent who habitually molested her, and impregnated her...the child has far more to contend with than any human should ever have or have to do.

Thus, many of us adult females, understanding the naivete of children, find nothing too awful as to punishing this terrible creep.

None of us would, undoubtedly, actually take chain saws to anyone else nor tie someone up on a tree to be eaten by ants (as I was earlier writing) -- it's all figurative speech intended to communicate how terribly we feel about this situation, not to indicate actual actions.

However, I do know that most adults, when we hear about child sexual abuse like this (or even child abuse of a non sexual kind) pretty routinely tend to want to exact a terrible punishment upon those who abuse children. People who abuse children, also, will never be -- regardless of therapy and time passing and all that -- will never be trustworthy around a child again and should be completley removed from society because of that. They (almost all of them) repeat their activities over and over again with many victims and unfortunately for our species, oftentimes we only know about one of the victims and not the full range of damage done to many children by sexual predators like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if this creep had other child victims. But even one is far too much and the circumstances here are really gruesome. Thus, some of us try to get the point across as to how horrid we consider this to be.

I noticed that.

"the non-judgmental judge".

Perhaps he should remember that a contradiction in terms is not what his job description is about.

If you read the local Vermont rags, they are mostly full of anger, not against a long term child rapist running loose in their state, but rather, against us red states interfering with their beloved judge.

From what I've read, there may be other factors too.
This is a cut and paste from http://www.mum.org/menarage.htm

Improved overall nutrition.
Generally improved environmental circumstances
Smaller families.
Natural selection/genetics.
Gradual change in world temperature
Drop in incidence of disease
Obesity (onset of menarche has a correlation with the body fat percentage)
Sedentary lifestyle.
Hormones and chemicals in the food supply.
Hypersexualization via TV etc.

Really? I hadn't heard that the verdict had been changed, 3 years is still nothing for repeatedly molesting a child but certainly better than the 60 days.

Last I heard he was refusing to change his verdict even if it "considerably shortened his career".

"I predict great success with treatment programs."
----such is the nature of the twisted psyche of the
molester that even this public punishment I think
would have little effect at deterrence for would-be molesters. Some kind of treatment before or after the fact
would probably have around the same level of minimal
deterrence. IOW, not much at all. I am not saying
a la John Kerry, re: terrorism, that we should get used to a certain level of violence/sexual deviance, but there is little we can do even if we KILL all convicted molesters on the spot. We would have to incarcerate and remove from public circulation anyone with these tendencies BEFORE the crime was committed, and I don't see this society EVER doing that.

Perhaps someone suggested it might "considerable shorten his life." That might make someone think twice. :)

Sad, but I think it may have something to do with the sex agenda being pushed at younger and younger kids.May also have to do with kids being heavier and the amount of hormones in foods. A girl will not begin to menstrate until her body fat percentage hits a certain point. Safe to say some kids are hitting that mark earlier and earlier.

then suspend his sentence so that he can get treatment. We must offer him hope! To heck with injustices to the child.

Don't forget, we also have to force him to marry her, so the child will have an involved father in its life. After all, she wasn't any older when he impregnated her than Ayesha was when Madmo consummated their wedding.

Either that, or else we have to wait until the baby is weaned, then stone the girl as an adulteress.

As a youngster, I never knew of any other children being molested. In fact, I was almost an adult before I knew such things happened. Yes, I was naive. Sometimes kids think everyone else's families are just like their own.My eyes were opened when an co-worker and his wife were busted for molesting her two year old (from previous relationship) He started doing it and then she joined in - her own child!! My brain just cannot wrap around the idea that parents/step-parents will destroy a child in this way. The Bible says that whosoever destroys a child's innocence will have a millstone tied around his neck and be cast into the sea. I hate to paraphrase the Bible but don't remember....Book of John maybe?

An "agenda" can't cause puberty. :) There is some thinking that hormones and chemicals used in some food production can have an effect. But early puberty, while not the norm, has occurred at all different times. I was 10 when I experienced menarche, and that was in 1965.

I doubt they even wear a raincoat.

A couple of things (that I've said on other threads)...

First, I believe that molested kids drop into a world of understanding that other kids don't see or even know it exists. And like draws like....my whole life, as long as I remember, had some sexual overtures or horror stories in it.

Anyhow, it's literally like two worlds exist. The fluffy, beautful, Disney-esque world that all know of, and many wish they were in. And the darker, sadder, "adults are the enemy, I can't wait to grow up' world that molested/abused kids exist in, but the other kids and adults are clueless could even exist.

Secondly, molested kids can be and often are emotionally mutilated. No, it doesn't mean they can't have full or happy lives. It doesn't mean that they can't put away the nightmares and learn to trust. But references that others can pull from they often can't. I once used the term 'crippled'. Again, it's not for pity or sympathy, just, that there are things missing....like you only have 4 fingers on each hand while others have 5.

For me, my relationships with males fall into 3 catagories-
Sex
Enemy/Adversary
Sibling

While I know loving, father figures exist (I see them all the time)...MY emotional interaction/concept is a blank. Maybe that's why I cringe at a male diety, because he, during my abuse, became one in the same with my male abusers.

Honestly, I think one of my reasons for not getting married again is I have to first find the ability to trust and at the same time, not believe I deserve pain like I have in the past.

And I honestly can't remember a time of trust or innocence with adults. My imaginary world, that I could control, was my safe place. So were the animals on the farm. They might kick, stomp, bite or trample me....but they didn't hate me.

ANYHOW, this isn't meant to be a downer. Molested kids can function quiet well, go on to be loving parents and good spouses and have happy lives. But the scars are permanent. Maybe that's why I believe in the death penalty for these folks....because they've taken chunks of their minds away and multilated their victims spiritually.

Maybe that is the millstone.
