Hillary's political instincts have never been anywhere near as sharp as her husband's. I really don't think she could survive a national campaign.

I think you may be right; she has a political tin ear.

And let's face it, he's losing his; I can't think of one candidate he's advised who won, can you?

She cannot spend two years, 2006 to 2008, avoiding questions like she did in 2000; heck, sometime between now and November SOMEBODY is going to ask her if she's going to serve her entire six years.

I just hope that the Dem filibuster will finally push the Republicans over the edge and pass the constitutional option, then hope for two more Supreme Court judges to retire and watch the Dems implode.

Oh, yes.......some big "world economic" summit........you know, the usual suspects; they just move around from one venue to another; today, Davos, tomorrow Sundance, Sunday, Aspen.

For the record, I loathe the woman's politics. That said, I think it was a smart move on her part. She is in trouble with the lunatic left of the Dim Party because of her stance on the Iraq War. How better to shore up relations with them then to support a filibuster that Harry Reid acknowledges hasn't got a prayer. She will get the "credit" for taking a stand, without actually risking anything. The criticisms on here are from an audience which won't support her anyway, so why should she care about that? She's playing to a different group, very few of whom would post here.

The story of Hillary;

Once upon a time there was a girl who was insane and tried with all her might to burn down her house with gasoline and dynamite. After the attempted fire was put out a new owner took over. When the new owner stepped on a rug and created static electricity, the girl said "Why are you trying to destroy my house with that atomic bomb?"

Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito...

Where's she been up 'till now? Now that Alito's a lock and it's safe to come out against him without any long-term ramifications, President Hillary panders to the moveon.org crowd.

Such huevos.

Maybe he's spending a lot of time on the ski hills he won't have to use the 'fake and bake' tan stuff before he appears on tv. That would be a good thing for me as that color didn't come in too good on our tv hahahah.

She knows it will come to nothing. She can stick her neck out knowing it won't mean a thing, and claim some moral victory to please the moonbats.

Not only does he have to make sure of that, but he has to make sure enough vote to CONFIRM Alito that it doesn't look like a filibuster could have worked.

ie... if Alito only gets 51-59 confirmation votes, the moonbats will go APESHIT against those dems who voted for cloture.

LMAO!

Honestly, I have been praying for a filibuster because it puts us in such a strategically strong position!

I don't get it. Judge Alito is not Justice Alito yet. Why are we happy when somebody says s/he want to filibuster Alito? If cloture fails, or filibuster gets enough votes, it's not a guarantee that those liberal Republicans / red-state democrats will vote the same way they vote in cloture vote. So, reaching 50 votes for constitutional option is still a fight, not given. The night is still long.

Although, of course, it's good that HRC now has to move back to the left and kiss good-bye to her 'centrist' image that she's been trying to build for a while.

I was thinking today, clearly this is no longer the party of Bill Clinton. He would have never let the party get suckered into this position. If they filibuster Alito it is a lose/lose. If they hold off until the next nomination after having given the two white guys a pass is going to be a lose/lose/lose/lose...

I don't think he even cares. It's always been all about Bill; if he has to stump for someone else to get his name back in the papers, then that's what he'll do. Someone else winning big time would just take away from his position as the DNC's favorite son anyway.
