Clinton to support Alito filibuster Says she’ll join Sen. Kerry in blocking Alito’s nomination, putting her at odds with top Democrats

BY GLENN THRUSH WASHINGTON BUREAU

January 27, 2006, 9:41 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, just as top Democratic leaders predicted the effort is likely doomed.

With three Democratic senators pledging support for Alito, the New Jersey conservative seems virtually assured of being confirmed by the full Senate Monday or Tuesday, party leaders predicted Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in Washington that "everyone knows" Senate Democrats couldn't muster the 40 votes needed to support a last-ditch filibuster.

These two are 4 and a half and 3.

And in case you want to know, last year when they went to the polls, when they went through the door, the oldest one started yelling "Where's George Bush?"

:-)

I love the game of politics; this is NOT a game anymore. It's a fight to the death, IMO. And it's for this country.

Right you are. And beware this -- what if they gain power again? will they be so sure to give it up in a 'fair' election? Think about it.

Well since I have been here, I've never saw you to be 'dramatic' nor jump the gun, in fact your always very cautious and fact hungary before making any judgements..

Your very talkative tonite, it's good to see, especially since you have a lot to say that's worth reading. :-)

Great story...their Grandma is training them right!!

Boy, at those ages...you do have your hands full. But such fun ages...learning new things...they don't know it all yet, and they LOVE their grandparents, I am sure.

Awww, you've got the grand-kiddies with you. I bet they just love coming to see their grandparents! I can't wait for our grandbaby to come up and see us again. He's 13 months now and cute as a button. It's been so cold here (-62 for a low, and a warm -38 right now...ugh) that we haven't wanted to travel anywhere, and I don't want the kids traveling in these temps either.

Somebody said today that if the GOP pulled the trigger the Dems were going to boycott the SOTU!

I'd bet my house Robert Byrd won't; and it would be easy to spot the bought and paid for Soros boys and girls from the empty seats, wouldn't it? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Whoever the HELL is leading this group of lemmings over the cliff has got one hell of a what-do-you-call-it for George W. Bush.

I read a short biography on him, right after the DNC convention...when the MSM first started calling him Vice President....but, I have to admit I don't remember anything...except that he is WAY far more left than he lets on...

Freepers have VERY long memories and a CRAP load of bookmarks.

ROFL! I told my husband the other day that I may need a computer just to hold my bookmarks! As for the "very long memories".....well, I'll count on my FRiends to help me along with that. I remember the big things, but when I want to remember some article, or fact, relating so a "big thing", I need a bit of help. I'd invest in "Post-It" notes, but I'm getting tired of those lil suckers sticking to the bottoms of my slippers. ;)

what if they gain power again?

We just cannot let that happen.

Which, of course, means I might have to do something I swore I wouldn't.....and you know what it is.
