WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, just as top Democratic leaders predicted the effort is likely doomed.
With three Democratic senators pledging support for Alito, the New Jersey conservative seems virtually assured of being confirmed by the full Senate Monday or Tuesday, party leaders predicted Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in Washington that "everyone knows" Senate Democrats couldn't muster the 40 votes needed to support a last-ditch filibuster.

Thanks.
Did you understand what I mean?
After what we've seen since January of 2001, I look back with fondness to Clinton...........LOL........I mean, that was F U N for us........LOL.
You have it exactly right IMHO, well said.
I think it hit home like never before for Rush today, too, when that Jill called in. Normally he can have some fun with the bats, but this one even scared him, you could tell.
Smarmy, shallow and crooked in as many ways as humanly possible, but you are right. Compared to the bunch we are dealing with today, he is practically a choir boy.
Dang....$265 dollar a barrel oil???
I am gonna get me a shovel and start digging in my backyard tomorrow...LOL
I think it was more than the NYT. I think it was that, but I think some arm-twisting in Davos, too.
Yeah...maybe Biden finally realized what Bush has known all along...it is a dangerous world out there..(of course he won't admit it)...and that just schmoozing and being diplomatic does NOT get rid of terror.
What did the Jill say?
Hillary is Marxist to her core... and she is an example of what happens when impressionable young people are exposed to a marxist way of thinking... she was raised Republican and in her teens a marxist-thinking Sunday School teacher turned her head to the dark side and she never recovered.
Oh....yeah, he was there...McCain is a media whore...and he knows that major media will be there all week.
But, he probably will be back by Monday night for the cloture vote..
Didn't Enron really happen when Clinton was President and get prosecuted while Bush is President? I think Libby is going to embarass the heck out of Fitz and they will either have to give him a lot of info they don't want public or drop the charges.
yup , Jill was quite poisonous,
... and then later Kenny , had it ALL figrr'd out
Thanks. That means a lot.
Do you want to hear something else scary...
I was listening to the Glenn Beck radio show...and he was talking about the Oprah kerfuffle with that guy's book...
and he was saying that she had a responsibility to find out if this guy was legit before calling into Larry King..blah, blah...
He had a woman call up defending Oprah...and actually said that Oprah "is practically God on earth..."..and went on to say the Glenn doesn't understand...
When there are people out there comparing OPRAH to God...we are in trouble...

The slime is congealing into one big, obstructionist puddle. A lot of good it'll do them.
I 'had' a really good friend in Illinois who I don't even speak with anymore since I told her I supported George Bush in 2000.... her daughter works for the University of Illinois in Urbana and has been indoctrinated and, in turn, indoctrinated her mother (my ex-friend) and when I tried to tell her why Bush over Gore she literally started screaming at the top of her lungs and covered her ears and said "I don't want to hear it!"
Funny thing is she knew I supported Reagan, etc., but it's been since 2000 that it went whacko..
Now, now....the dems don't let a little thing like FACTS get in the way of a good Bush bash...
Yes...not only Enron...but ALL of the scandals involving the CEO's of these hugh companies started and continued during the "boom" of the Clinton administration...
and, guess what, they are all being prosecuted in the Bush Administration...
He'd better be back by Monday!
