Clinton to support Alito filibuster Says she’ll join Sen. Kerry in blocking Alito’s nomination, putting her at odds with top Democrats

BY GLENN THRUSH WASHINGTON BUREAU

January 27, 2006, 9:41 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday announced she'll join potential 2008 presidential rival John Kerry in voting to filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, just as top Democratic leaders predicted the effort is likely doomed.

With three Democratic senators pledging support for Alito, the New Jersey conservative seems virtually assured of being confirmed by the full Senate Monday or Tuesday, party leaders predicted Friday. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in Washington that "everyone knows" Senate Democrats couldn't muster the 40 votes needed to support a last-ditch filibuster.

Biden went off the plantation yesterday. Or maybe Carter did. In any event the two rats completely contradicted each other regarding US aid to the Palestinians - - Carter said to send more, and Biden said it should be completely cut off. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Oh, I knew you weren't; I was just backing up what I said!

And, yes, of the two Clintons, she's the one that we need to be the most worried about.

He just wants to be "Most Popular." She wants our children to sue us because they don't have X-Boxes.

I think Hillary is trianulating badly. She knows there won't be a filibuster so she can vote against cloture and say she will filibuster, but it is safe because there are enough votes for cloture. In her thinking she pleases everyone.

Let's see, Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton, Reid, Feinstein, Dodd,...any one else ready to put the brakes on their future ambitions???

I count a whole lot of "safe seats" in your mix; that's why they're the attack dogs. I dunno about Nevada voters, but Reid likely knows he's safe enough.....the rest of the bastards would get re-elected if they shot, screwed and ate their mommies, and were caught on tape doing so.

Life's a beach! She is finding it's harder to hide your true motivations when the whole country knows you vs when Clinton ran and had Ross Perot to help out and a country who didn't have a clue what he was really about or an internet to research it before people voted.

Try to steal the wacko base right under my crooked nose!

Well, I vote for filibuster too! how about that huh huh huh!

(It's going to get uglier than the two of them combined come the '08 primary elections. Get your popcorn ready because when they run out of talking points the personal insults will reach new lows)

My analogy of the political Left in our counry like this:

Ronald Reagan shined a flashlight on the Evil Empire and thousands of cockroaches scurried out from under their rocks and fled across the sea to be taken in by their aparatchiks here and set up shop.

Howlin's right; it's not a game anymore. Like Wes Pruden of the Washington Times said of the Clintons, "They came to Washington to game the system."

I love the game of politics; this is NOT a game anymore. It's a fight to the death, IMO. And it's for this country

I agree with you but continue to wonder, if it's not traditional Democrat-Republican politics, then what is it? The progressives? The Soros types who are threatened by emerging capitalist democracies? The French type who envision themselves as the counterweight to the world's lone superpower?

So do you suppose Soros put the squeeze on Bubba Clinton in Davos (along with Kerry) and Bubba called her to fillibuster because Soros is depositing a few more million into their Swiss account?

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Bubba secretly wanted her (Mrs. William Jefferson Blight Clintoon :) to lose...Just to humiliate her.

I have no idea how you'd classify them.

I just know that my mother in law and father in law, yellow dog Democrats ("We're voting for Clinton because he's going to tax the rich," when they WERE the rich) are agreeing with me more and more.

It's almost like the screwiest people in the world, like the Deaniacs, have taken over the DNC -- and they've obviously been willing to let themselves be beholding to them.

Maybe it is that MoveOn/Soros/progressives (commies) crowd; I just know that they hate this country and are hell bent on destroying it.

His strength was in the "Southern Charm" and I think he is much smarter politically than Hillary... if she had political instincts his 'people' in Arkansas would not have told her she needed to ditch the glasses, comb her hair and shave her arms and legs because she was holding him back with her 60's hippy look, she would have already known all that.
