Here's a few comments off my blog concerning Lurch's filibuster....the idiots DUers think Kerry is their saviour. Those on the right know better....
Kerry the coward pulled this stunt knowing full well that Reid didn't have the votes, what a turd.

Kerry is a coward for standing up for what he believes in and taking a political risk?
Or are you refering to the swiftboat liars?

With all do respect to the newbie commnentor on the left. This is nothing but a political "stunt" to collect names for his 08 run. You obviously wouldn't recognize a blatant example of political expediency if it bit you in the ass.

Stupid Leahy,
When Roosevelt was packing the Supreme Court, he actually changed the number of Supremes to get his liberal philosophy through.

Sen. Sessions is blasting the concept of foreign law as the basis for SC decisions.
Good for him.
Trouble is, O'connor and other judges have been on the side of using foreign law. So have some Senators. Remember Sen. Specter's reliance of Scottish Law during the Clinton Impeachment hearing?
The best counter I've heard was someone who posted/said: Our Forefathers established The Constitution to get away from foreign (European) law.

I say Bush should stop in the middle of his SOTU speech and swear in Alito.

Well..it's better than Molly Ivins..this morning on C-spam, she suggested the Dems run Carter, or Bill Moyers..

well , Leahy sounds like they'll be trying for whatever they can get,
... may not be a genuine filibuster but,
... they WILL try to gum-up the works
To: TomGuy
My post about the servants was done tongue-in-cheek...but I think today's wimpy Senate can bring in a small number of pitch hitters to help the other Senator out. I'm not sure, though.
