CNN: Wolf Blizer Reports - They have more then 60 votes for cloture - possibly 70
CNN

Wolf Blizer on "The Situation Room" reported that the republicans have more then enough votes for cloture, as many as 70. Looks like Kerry jumped the gun a bit too fast.

"IMO, it's a universal rejection of Kerry by the Democrats in the Senate. They want him to go away, shut up, and not remind America of why they shut the Dems out of power in 2004. "

You are exactly right. He's been "Algored" off to the sidelines. They have virtually shunned him since he lost and for now, he's simply a useful idiot/mouthpiece for their harebrained schemes. He keeps the moonbat hopes alive. Frankly, I'm shocked that the moonbats don't switch over to the socialist party and dump their rat connections.

You're right, Frist is irrelevant as well as wimpy, cowardly, ineffectual as a leader. In the back alley senate fights of DimWit obstructionism & dirty tactics, dingy dirty Harry Reid & the Dims have won every single legislative partisan battle against a baffled confused Frist & his equally spineless Repubs. The Dims decide what & when the votes will take place, even though they're the minority party. I am simply pointing out the obvious! Yah, maybe you're right, I'm tired of seeing the Repubs get embarrassed & taken to the woodshed again & again, even in their occasional senate victories.

I don't know whether to be grateful for Frist's retirement, or infuriated that his presumptive successor is Trent Lott.

I think he knows this isn't going to happen, but he's outflanking Hillary!(tm) to the left, trying to curry favor with the moonbats.

That worked so well the last time!

Oh but they do fall for it! It must be delusional thinking on their part or just plain desperation ,looking for somebody ,ANYBODY to be their leader and lead them(the rats) out of the wilderness.........some DUmmy at the DUmpster actually posted'' Senator Kerry, some here have insinuated you are doing this (leading a call to filibuster)for ''future ambitions'' none of us believe that .We won't even go there.......I thought I was gonna throw up......And I'm sure Kerry is laughing his a-s off phoning in his fake filibuster to keep his name in the news as he merrily skis down the ski slopes in Switzerland..........

The ladies aren't going to post anything else because we have nice clean minds, lol. I was quoting a line from the article - didn't think about anything else!

Charlie is supposed to have a swirl of hair on his head. You mentioned 'cropping'. Do you want the bald guy running or who? Let me know tomorrow, OK.

I'm heading for bed.

Amongst other things, there would be nothing MORE boring than a filibuster by John Kerry than.... maybe a filibuster by Al Bore. The move would backfire - BIGTIME - on the entire Dum-o-crat party. The American people would see through this as a huge political ploy that it is - "attention-getting" behavior indeed to curry favor with his far-left-wing moonbat constituency. The rest of the country will laugh, because when John "Longwinded" Kerry is done, the vote will still happen and the vote will still ultimately be in favor of Alito.

In fact there's a CNN poll up right now that addresses this question. Go to their home page and scroll down - it's on the lower right. Kerry is LOSING right now with over 100,000 votes in.
