Founded in 1914, Greyhound Lines, Inc. is the largest provider of intercity bus transportation, serving more than 3,100 destinations with 16,000 daily departures across North America. It has become an American icon, providing safe, enjoyable and affordable travel to 22 million passengers each year. The Greyhound running dog is one of the most-recognized brands in the world . . .
Greyhound has four subsidiaries in the United States, which are a part of the nationwide Greyhound network. For those within Mexico who wish to travel by Greyhound in the United States, Greyhound subsidiary Greyhound de Mexico can sell Greyhound tickets at one of more than 100 agencies located throughout Mexico. The agencies also sell tickets for several Mexican bus companies, like Estrella Blanca, which connect to Greyhound service at the United States-Mexico border cities.

I'll get a lot more accepting of this idea when you explain how you are going to enforce the TEMPORARY part of this plan. How do you make them leave when their visas expire? If it will work then why aren't we doing it now?
I think it is potentially possible for a TEMPORATY worker plan to work, but certain conditions would have to be met:
1. Eliminate automatic brithright citizenship
2. Truly enforce the hiring provisions on the interior, so it would be virtually impossible for an illegal to overstay his visa and work in the U.S.
3. Allow local officials to prosecute immigration law.
For someone with the screen name "Acts 2:38," your position doesn't sound very Biblical.
Consider Leviticus 19:33-34: "33 "When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God."
And what's this business about "non-whites"? Are illegal Mexican aliens OK by you if they're white-skinned? Many Mexicans are, you know.
He is referring to the radical "civil rights" groups like La Raza, Maldef, and MECHA. There is little doubt that they are anti non-mexican. I mean, for God sakes, The National Council of the Race! C'mon.
All things we could be doing without creating a temporary worker plan. We have an excellent opportunity to test your theory on the current batch of illegals and see if it works before we give a few million more visas that will expire. What would you think about that? It seems wise to me that all of these things would be in place and working before we let the first guest in the door.
Oh, definitely. Any person currently in this country illegally, who wanted to stay and work, would be put into the worker program for a set amount of time. This might help solve the problem of what to do with the illegals currently here. I would not bring in any more foreign workers until that situation is resolved.
I'm sure no AMERICANS would lose their home because of that and/or the housing bubble bursts when 19 million residents somehow magically disappear overnight.
Your ignorance is astounding.
If it's open, which it frequently isn't.
So, you don't want all 19 million illegal aliens to be deported?!
Yes, all illegal invaders should be deported, post haste. After all, they are illegal.
How big a hit would that take on your family?
Most of the Quislings use the phony Pew Hispanic Center figure of 11 million illegals now in the country. Yet you use a 19 million figure. Why is that?
Of course, even you are way low...
Yea, my non-driving aunt should have a drivers license (!!) or passport (!!!!!) to take a bus from Toledo to visit us in Detroit.
Well, since we just purchased our house with a fixed rate mortgage and don't plan on moving anytime soon, probably not that big of a hit - but I sure wouldn't appreciate taking a huge paper loss on our biggest investment right now either - how many other American families with ARMs etc. do you think WILL take a big hit and lose their homes from it?
I've only seen 19 million bantered about on these threads - sorry if you think whatever the number is would somehow mean zero economic loss - I mean just the cost of rounding them all up and transportation is huge (although since the U.S. government is going to own all those shiny, new Greyhound buses . . . )
Typically, you avoid the question.
But your belief that your prosperity depends on lawbreaking and slave labor is pathetic nonetheless.
So you favor rewarding the illegals will legal (albeit temporary) status?
You misunderstood my proposal I was suggesting that we test your proposals by seeing if they could be used to chase out the current illegals without ever giving them legal status.
We don't need to make them guestworkers to cut-off their rights to have anchor babies. We don't need to make them guestworkers before we start enforcing our employment laws and forcing employers to verify social security cards. We don't need to make them guestworkers to have local law enforcement start enforcing immigration laws.
We could do all of those things now. If we started seeing illegals leave in droves, THEN we could safely conclude that your proposals are adequate (which I doubt) and implement a guest worker program.
I've answered every direct question ever posed here on these thread (unless the questioner fails to return the same courtesy). Bush could easily change the "lawbreaking" and "slave labor" part with the stroke of his pen, you realize that, right?
I wasn't even following the other thread and what this person is attempting to do is so laughable as to be embarrassing as a member of Free Republic. Not even a sophisticated attempt, sheesh. Needs to try harder next time.
I note you did not answer my question: "how many other American families with ARMs etc. do you think WILL take a big hit and lose their homes from it?"
