Healthy People 2010

Before Bill Clinton left office, he authorized 2001 an 84% increase in the government's investment in nanotechnology research and development, National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) and made it a top priority.

What has not been publicly realized is the meaning of this initiative and the various components that are encompassed.

This governmental increase has been combined with non-governemental organizations and grant programs. These NGOs have been creating partnerships with existing governmental agencies and masking initiatives as Federal and State grant reward programs. They are not.

...the School Nutrition Policy is an effort of another initiative called Healthy People 2010. The Model School Nutrition Program is the first implementations of the Healthy People 2010 Project.

The USDA, State and Local levels are presenting this as a FEDERAL program.

The CDC says it is a Non Governmental Organization.

The Goal of the Healthy People 2010 Project is to have all our health and food safety needs tracked in a National Database by 2010. The school children's lunches are the first steps.

The USDA is also working on strong arming the animal producers into having all of their animals tracked in a national database too for food safety issues.

NATIONAL ANIMAL ID SYSTEM

The National Animal Identification System is being put into place “to enable 48 hour traceback of the movements of any diseased or exposed animal.”

The NAIS consists of three components:

# Premises registration
# Animal identification
# Animal tracking

Those putting this into place do not consider you the owner of your animals. Their approach to this is “We must ensure the participation requirements of the NAIS not only provide the results necessary to maintain the health of the national herd …

Human ID implant to be unveiled soon

Developed by Applied Digital Solutions, the device is said to be the first-ever operational combination of bio-sensor technology and Web-enabled wireless telecommunications linked to global positioning satellite location-tracking systems.

Applied Digital Solutions Chairman Richard Sullivan said the development of the technology has progressed well ahead of schedule.

"We're extremely heartened by the remarkable progress made by Dr. Peter Zhou and his entire research team, including professors and their associates at Princeton University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology," said Sullivan. "This technology relates directly to the exploding wireless marketplace. We'll be demonstrating for the first time ever that wireless telecommunications systems and bio-sensor devices -- capable of measuring and transmitting critical body function data -- can be successfully linked together with GPS (global positioning satellite) technology and integrated with the Internet."

People

Locate. Identify. Protect.
Every day, the unexpected and sometimes unthinkable occurs. An elderly patient in a nursing home wanders off. A baby is abducted from a maternity ward. An incapacitated patient is brought into an emergency ward without any identification.

At Applied Digital, we specialize in helping to safeguard people with the most advanced identification technology.

Today Applied Digital offers a wide range of RFID security solutions, including:

Instant medical records
The implantable VeriChip can seamlessly retrieve stored medical records data-based information within milliseconds. By waving the proprietary VeriChip scanner within close proximity of the chip, the individual's medical history can be retrieved to communicate accurate information when necessary - particularly for diabetic, emergency care, cardiac care or memory-impaired individuals.

A more effective alternative to other technologies
As a personal identification and security technology, the VeriChip system can complement or replace more expensive biometric technologies that identify individuals by their unique biological or physical characteristics - such as fingerprints, voiceprints, retina characteristics or face recognition points.

VeriChip, by contrast, relies on implanted, tamperproof, microchip technology that provides access to a database containing pertinent information about the person. This information can save lives in medical emergencies and can facilitate security measures that would be difficult or impossible to implement using alternative security systems.

I am so grateful that my mom and brothers and Christian friends taught me how to survive on my own. I suspect that soon I may have to drop out of society to avoid the NaNI monitoring.

An implanted chip... like anything else, I expect a whole cartload of unexpected consequences. Tamperproof? Nothing is "tamperproof." No doubt people will be able to disable the thing easily (if nothing else, with a sharp razor and tweezers). Fruad should be easy to implement, at least at first, until scanning devices get more complex. Any health risks having a foreign object under the skin for a long time? A transmitter the size of grain of rice isn't much - a 100 billion of those rice grains wandering around the environment, though, could be an interesting waste product concern. Not to mention what happens during a blackout. Or walking by a large magnet.

I guess they wouldn't sell very many if they called it "Digital Demon."

Watch the push for this technology to continue. There are already efforts in larger cities to "chip" your kids for free through local law enforcement or social service agencies. For their safety, ya know ...

I've been following the advancement of this technology for a number of years. A lot of the information in the post is factually inaccurate or outdated.

Are you personally opposed to the Digital Angel or attempting to promote it?

Take a look at DOC & ADSX share prices for the last 5 years. This is much to do about nothing imho. The companies are still in business and put out BS PR's investors ignore. Anyway it's not inserting the chip that is a problem, it's allegiance to the system and AC that will damn you.

Systematic Tracking and Sourcing of Livestock Can Help Restore Confidence After Growing International Pressure, Recent Mad Cow Confirmation in Canada

SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (Amex: DOC - News) today reiterated its proposal for a comprehensive national electronic RFID solution to satisfy renewed interest in a program that will quickly identify and track animals of interest in an animal health incident such as an outbreak of Mad Cow Disease. The system includes electronic RFID (radiofrequency identification) tags and scanners which work in conjunction with various databases to register the livestock information. It can quickly isolate any problem discovered in an animal from birth through slaughter and distribution. In both 2005 and 2006, the United States Congress (through annual appropriations bills) acknowledged RFID technology and specifically Digital Angel's RFID technology as a viable and logical solution to the country's health concerns related to Mad Cow and other infectious diseases"

Heads up.

One of the people that runs http://www.nonais.org/ just received a phone call from the USDA.

The following is an exact quote:

I just got a call from “‘Alice’ calling on behalf of the USDA.” She wanted to know if I would take part in a survey and said it would only take up a few minutes of my time. I asked what the questions are. Turns out she’s gathering the information that they could use to “Voluntarily” enroll me in NAIS without my permission. This already happened in Washington state. Watch out! The USDA and some states are making a big deal about how many “voluntary” enrollments they already have from farmers. They use this number to emphisize that farmers strongly support NAIS. Makes me wonder. Be very wary of any communications from the USDA and other agencies. Remember: “They’re from the government and they’re here to help us.”
