I was in NJ last night. I wished I had made a sign for my car congratulating NJ for their native son, Supreme Court Judge in Waiting....Samuel Alito.
To: ken5050
oh and one more thing
I predict the majority of the Dems debate time will not be about Alito
They will use their time to talk about impeachment of the president

I share your optimism about the fall elections, and our reasoning for it. The rats truly are clueless and MSM is doing it's best to keep them in the dark.
I read a post by Commontator and he presented a good case for a likely rat filibuster and then the nuclear option. We are in a win-win situation. If the rats succeed in killing the nomination it will energize Republican voters in 06 and get us closer to a VETO proof Senate majority. If Alito is confirmed he will be a vigorous conservative voice on the SCOTUS and energize Republican voters in 06.
It is a great time to be a Republican.

Have teddy and reid become drinking partners? Jabba need another slice for his waitress sandwich?
I was at a used bookstore and got Senatorial Privilege by Leo Damore, since I am only 40 years old, I always heard about Chappaquiddick, but never knew about it. It is appalling that fat pig is still in office...

"Has TOM COBURN's name surfaced for PRESIDENT in 2008???
I really like this man."
This man has more compassion in his little finger than most of the Democrats and Libs out there!! If he was qualified to be President, I'd vote for him too! He had me in tears when he spoke about the evils of abortion. God bless him for speaking out the truth bravely, and not using polite little euphemisms like "right to privacy" and "women's reproductive rights" that fall so easily from the lips of Ted Kennedy and DiFi!

If they were going to filabuster, they would NOT have demanded the one week delay. If they filabuster NOW it comes to the cloture vote the same time as the SOTU..it give the president too big a bully pulpit..

The REAL question is why the Republicans refuse to fight this war or even acknowledge that's what it is. Republicans have held majorities in Congress every election since 1994. We now have a majority of state governors, state legislators and state legislatures. Soon we will have another young conservative voice on the SCOTUS. We are winning the war for POWER.

So unless he is smart and gets a WRITTEN agreement from Reid as to the vote schedule, you may well see a cloture vote filed within the next day or so. Roberts was confirmed under a unanimous consent agreement regarding a date (and roughly time) certain to take the vote. The alternative to unanimous consent is "consent of at least 60," also known as "cloture."
I think there will be a cloture motion. I think Reid will say the DEMs need more information, more time, etc., without giving any definite reason. He won't call for "more debate" than 3 days worth. Most of the talkative opposition has already spoken up in committee.

You are PRICELESS....your narrative above is wonderful...and I love the disclaimer!!!
Luckily, I have Chase today...so she will be my "distractor"...and keep me from getting TOO involved.
However, since I am a known Senate JUNKIE, I would appreciate any and all good notes taken for those of us that won't be able to watch/listen all day....

Good question. It irritated me no end during the hearings to have Spector OFFER the damn RATS more time to bash Bush and spout their vile, insane rantings.
