Warriors and wusses-Why I DON'T SUPPORT our troops. (Barf alert-LA TIMES)
LA Times.com ^ | 24 JAN 06 | Joel Stein

Warriors and wusses I DON'T SUPPORT our troops. This is a particularly difficult opinion to have, especially if you are the kind of person who likes to put bumper stickers on his car. Supporting the troops is a position that even Calvin is unwilling to urinate on.

I'm sure I'd like the troops. They seem gutsy, young and up for anything. If you're wandering into a recruiter's office and signing up for eight years of unknown danger, I want to hang with you in Vegas.

"I still think this guy is a POS."

Absolutely.

I consider that this guy is WAY over the threshold of treasonous and sedition writing.

Personally, I would love to seem him thrown in a dark cold jail somewhere in the Kurdish or Shiite area of Iraq.

"That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. I can support someone who is honest, regardless of his positions. He's a chicken shit who has never done anything for anyone but at least he's honest!"

There is some really good news here. It won't take the moonbats on the lefty blogs to pick up in this fag's version of "Honesty" and to begin to spout the same drivel. Within days, they will all go into a self-induced circle jerk of approval and their next step will be to demand the same position from their lap boi's, the demonRAT congress critters.

The demonRAT congress critters will then face a dilema, spout the hate drivel, or face the wrath of the lefty loons. It is a hobson's choice and no politico wants to be in this bucket of crap. Have fun hildabeast.

Good morning.
"I guess you could say he is an ''honest liberal'"

Liberalism IS a lie, therefore there is no such thing as an honest liberal. They are lying to themselves or to you but you can be sure that they are lying somewhere along the line.

I'll give him credit for one thing, he states accurately the position of his fellow democrats when he writes "being against the war and saying you support the troops is one of the wussiest positions the pacifists have ever taken — and they're wussy by definition.AMEN to that!

He then goes on to show us in crystal clear fashion the flip-flop moralism of the Democrats when he states "I'm not advocating that we spit on returning veterans like they did after the Vietnam War...". The liberals used to spit on American's defending freedom and called them "BABY KILLERS". Now these same lower than maggot squeeze neo farts can't wait to KILL BABIES. What hypocrisy!

Brave men and women throughout history have given their lives to protect the admonitions of meaningless f_cks like this guy.

The fact that he makes it into print at all is what galls me more.

Sometimes you get lucky and get to fight ethnic genocide in Kosovo any war for a darling Democrat

I know this is all easy to say for a guy who grew up with money, did well in school and hasn't so much as served on jury duty for his country. But it's really not that easy to say because anyone remotely affiliated with the military could easily beat me up, and I'm listed in the phone book.

Could this wuss make a case for himself any better for both being a wuss and deserving a pummeling from someone who served?

At least this guy's honest. He's not one of those but-monkeys who say, "I support the troops, BUT . . . ."

Blindly lending support to our soldiers, I fear, will keep them overseas longer by giving soft acquiescence to the hawks who sent them there — and who might one day want to send them somewhere else. Trust me, a guy who thought 50.7% was a mandate isn't going to pick up on the subtleties of a parade for just service in an unjust war. He's going to be looking for funnel cake.

As opposed to Clinton, who thought that 43% gave him a mandate in 1992.

Ask a Democrat sometime to name the last three Democrat presidents who won with more than 51% of the popular vote. It drives them crazy. (Hint, one of them is Andrew Jackson).

I may find his position disgusting, but at least he's honest.

He is ,except the usual "The President lied to our representatives" crap.

The position expressed in this column is the one I've been saying the Left truly believed for years, so it's refreshing to see someone on the Left finally expressing it.

I can only hope the rest of his party follows his lead. You might be surprised but I wouldn't be if such a thing happened. The Loony Left, led by Dean and DU, wants so badly to express these feelings they can taste it. I am sure this column will be well-received at DU and other such joints. Let's hope they push this message to their fellow disloyal Americans. And yes, I am trying to be just as honest as the columnist is in calling them disloyal.

Thanks for that info. Now I can see why he's got a column. With that kind of background, there's no wonder he's got a place in the MSM. Working for Martha Stewart, growing up rich, being on VH-1--now there's the voice of a generation.

If I got an editorial position at that rag, I'd fire this guy and hire the first soldier back from Iraq or Afghanistan who asked for the job, thus upping the space's credibility one hundred fold.

I guarantee this twerp is about 5'6" and 120 pounds. Probably got "bullied" all through high school.

Sounds like a typical journalist to me!

And you wonder why subscription rates for the Los Angeles Times and the revenues for the Tribune Company (who owns the Times) have taken a nosedive in the past 5-7 years.

I'm not advocating that we spit on returning veterans like they did after the Vietnam War, but we shouldn't be celebrating people for doing something we don't think was a good idea.

And I'm not advocating that we spit on journalists either ...
