A letter to the Editor makes the statement that Iran declared war on the U.S.
"Concerning Jed Babbin's "Iran Showdown" I remind you all that Iran declared war on the U.S. in 1979 (it was under a Democratic administration), and has never, to the best of my knowledge, rescinded that declaration.

I have always thought Iraq was one part "Get rid of Saddam" and one part "get positioning to take care of Iran". IMHO Iran has been the official terrorist state since 1979.
We have a debt to pay.

I have always thought Iraq was one part "Get rid of Saddam" and one part "get positioning to take care of Iran".It may have been about positioning, period. A nice dagger into the heart of "Islamistan".
